The interview took place exactly as Milo predicted it, which did flatter her ego but however didn't reassure her.
"It's very lovely to meet you Miss, I guess you are the new intern!" was starting way too happily one of the two old men who had overcome their 70th birthday, with grey hair and a large abdomen build by the numerous business dinners.
Even if Milo was murdering him in her mind, she didn't event ry to correct him, not wanting to flinch at her instructions despite the obvious lack of respect.
"My dear friend, I would not insult you by coming with a simple intern, I do have a little bit more of respect or you two gentlemen! May I present you Mindy Larson, our new junior, straight out from Harvard"
Lenny had just stepped in, and even if Milo did like him to defend her, she wasn't mistaking, he was only taking at hear the sake of the firm.
"- My apologies Mindy, you look so young you got me confused, I would've never thought you already graduated. How old are you then? If I may ask.
- 23."
Nicely caught up. But addressing her directly by her first name, no last name, no title, really got on her nerves. She kept quiet, smiling as she was biting the bullet while shaking the old man's hand, hiding her huge disgust the best she could.
Lenny was also quite surprised about Milo's age, 23 wasn't an age to be a lawyer yet, but he didn't comment on that. He didn't run a background check on her, which he decided to do when they'll get back. He could simply ask her the question but he didn't want to show her any interest.
She sat at an oval table, with Lenny on her right, without ever looking at him. He gave the three of them a little file with the next economic and legal decisions they needed to make, with risk, consequences and gains, everything they could ever had to know. Milo was impressed of what she was reading. She never had such an analyze between the hands. She now understood how Lenny got his reputation and why he was so unsatisfied with her work.
Negotiations started, and in her dear silent, Milo assisted to all the non verbal conversation they were having, much more absorbed than their words. Her boss wanted to make a little doll out of her, she was about to show him how a doll was way more captivating than any of his speech.
A silent wrestle of ego was taking place around this humble table. It was quite easy for her to monopolize the two pervert's attention with simple gestures, biting slightly her lips, playing with a pen around her delicate lips, breathing slowly, sensually. Everything was about balance. Getting too far in the seduction would make it obvious vulgar and would cost her to loose their attention, but playing it softly, innocent, naive, unaware of her own body, listening carefully to everyone like a good little girl, without ever speaking a word, was doing a perfect work. This little game was way more amusing.
They were interrupted by a lovely assistant, bringing up some refreshments, while Milow was trying to fold her hair into a bun. Unfortunately but in the interests of the young lawyer, the length of her hair was not allowing her such a trick. Which caused her to give a savage and unordered look to her hair, voluntarily neglected, exactly the kind you get after sex.
She put her elbows on the table when she suddenly felt a big hand grabbing with strength her wrist, pulling her sight and all of her attention on Lenny, that Milo tried to avoid having eye contact with from the beginning. He put a little bit too much strength in his movement, causing them to be way closer than expected. His face was only twenty centimeters away for hers, when he whispered those few words:
"Stop that immediately. If you think I don't see your little game!"
He let go of her before this got everyone's attention and sat back in his chair, pursuing his speech like nothing happened. His jacket was unbuttoned, slightly opened, letting a vest appear underneath, very close to his body, highlighting his V morphology perfectly. She caught herself contemplating him against her will and got back into the debate. But her thoughts stayed up on his stature and she couldn't chase this idea away, it was always popping up again and again.
The interview was coming to and end. The sun was also done for the day, declining in the sky and as this building was offering a beautiful view on the city, it would also offer the most beautiful sunsets. Milo started having too much sunlight in her eyes, bothering her much, preventing her from seeing properly. Lenny, who had noticed it, bent carefully to grab under the seat of Milo's chair, pulling her closer to him. The junior saw herself dragged to him, which she didn't expect and lost her balance. She almost fell onto him, but chose to put her hand on the back of his seat instead of repeating a physical contact.
She never felt for relieved than when they left the room. Once in the car, Lenny decided to break silence by asking her if he could drop her directly at her flat.
"- Thank you but I would like to go back to the office, I have some work left.
- It's 7pm, you are done for today, you'll work tomorrow."
Milo felt she had no control or decision over this discussion. She was still avoiding looking at him directly, trying to resorb her anger. She then gave an address to the driver, which was quite fare for the residential area, surprising Lenny once again.
He was not interested in her so he didn't want to ask anything, but he did like to control what and whom were surrounding him. She kept turning her head away from him, not wanting to look at him, which irritated him, he would rather have her confronting him. But it was probably for the best. If she ever tried to stood up to him, he would maybe loose his temper. It was like a gift she had to piss him off.
