My car broke down halfway to London. So I abandoned it and took all my supplies with me, before long I came across a fighting machine, motionless, still as a rock. I hid behind a tree, and I saw that giant tripod picking up a man and bashing him against a tree before the man died.
The Fighting Machine then sounded it's horn, attracting a Handling Machine to it's location. I saw the handling machine picking up the man and putting him in its basket. Then there was a booming sound as the handling machine sprayed out a red foamy substance everywhere around it. I tried to take a closer look, but I accidentally snapped a branch, revealing my location again.
That substance quickly rooted into the ground and became vines with claw-like appendages, leaves that were as sharp as fences, exactly like the ones I saw earlier.
Few hours later at London
Exhausted, I sat near a statue that was crippled and bloodied. Tanks and vehicles scattered everywhere, damaged, some on fire. I saw some of the red weed growing out of the statue's leg, but they were strangely.. white. I took a piece and tried to crush it but to my surprise, it took no effort at all. What was happening?
Then, a Martian force appeared, but they weren't doing any destruction, they were simply sitting there. Still.
Ulla! Ulla!
Ulla-
That formerly deafening roar suddenly ceased, one by one, the machines started to fall. A flying machine came close above me, then it fell towards the ground, I immediately ran away.
The fighting machines and handling machines started deactivating and fall to the ground
I saw some black crows, pecking the glass window of the Martian machines, I saw a Martian peeking out from one of the machines, but the hungry birds instantly tore it apart.
My father has told me that the Martians were not susceptible to bacteria and infections, but the energy shield that was protecting them was broken by the hungry birds.
The end..
OR IS IT?
