Following the Akademiya's Sages' departure, it had taken Kaveh an excruciating amount of pushing to get Alhaitham to divulge any and all details about the events that took place in his absence.

The Scribe was reluctant, claiming it wasn't relevant or important enough to waste breath on. Like he had already told the architect, all he really needs to know is that Azar and all his accomplices have been overthrown . Unfortunately, but not unexpectedly so, Kaveh did not accept that as a sufficient explanation.

He swore Alhaitham did it on purpose. Kaveh is the type of person who wants to know everything when something scandalous happens. The ins, the outs, all of it. Then he had the biggest scandal the Akademiya had seen yet, right at his fingertips, but guarded by the most impossible man he had ever met.

Eventually, he managed to get most of the details out of the Scribe. In the spare few free moments he had anyway. The reason Alhaitham even yielded the information was probably to get Kaveh off of his back. He'd been awfully busy and the insistent nagging about past events wasn't helping him manage his time.

The departure of the Sages now a few days behind them, has both the Akademiya as well as the duo settling into a new normal. The workload for the both of them had increased significantly. Both of them handle it well enough, Kaveh believes, but he is secretly relieved to not be as overloaded as some of the others running around the Akademiya in a slight panic.

He had a hard time gauging how Alhaitham was doing under the added pressure. He might be concerned. A tiny little bit. Alhaitham had seemed reluctant to divulge the details of what transpired not only to tease him. No, feels like something was being held back by the Scribe. Which is what brings him to the man's bedroom towards the end of the night.

The Scribe sat still, diligently at work. A small lamp illuminates the desk, leaving the room otherwise consumed by darkness. It gave just enough light for Kaveh to pick up on the strained expression on Alhaitham's face. The anguished look paired with fingers massaging his temple. Alhaitham hasn't noticed his roommate entering the room, pushing himself to focus on whatever he's writing down.

"Aren't you done for the day yet?" Kaveh says mostly to announce his presence behind Alhaitham as he shuffles closer. The Scribe gives no indication he'll be stopping what he's doing, nor does he give a reply. He hopes that the annoyance behind him would leave him alone if he just ignored it long enough. He didn't quite have the energy to do much more than that, which gave him the nagging feeling he wouldn't win the inevitable battle coming up either.

Kaveh sighs. Based on the strained way he found Alhaitham, he isn't willing to argue with him as he normally would. He's not so cruel to start something when Alhaitham is clearly exhausted.

The idea that Alhaitham is in any such state made his concern grow. The man is logical to a fault, annoyingly so, and if he needed to rest, he would. Gently Kaveh brushes his fingertips through the soft silver locks, which finally draws a reaction from Alhaitham.

Alhaitham's plan, if he may say so himself, had been immaculate. He'd fooled the Grand Sage and everything went exactly as he'd imagined it. The bump Kaveh had just brushed past was proof of that. When he acted out the crazed state he'd expected to be hurt in the process.

He was never concerned about his actual safety, but he knew if he'd told Kaveh the details he'd get an earful. He never really listens to or trusts anything Alhaitham tells him. He won't pretend he doesn't enjoy the frustration on the blond's face as he denied him the full details.

Kaveh is far too intrigued by other people's business and while he isn't a gossip, he does make it a point to know everything about everyone. So when Alhaitham knew all the ins and outs of the Sage's disappearance from the Akademiya while Kaveh didn't, he did relish in that a little.
