"Priscilla! You've got a phone call....somehow"

The girl's mother yelled from downstairs. The girl just continued to lie in her bed. Who'd be calling her anyway? She heard her mother scream again.

"HURRY UP DAMNIT!!" Priscilla sighed softly and slowly got up from her bed. Her body felt weak and heavy. She hadn't left her bed in such a while. Priscilla finally reached her mother downstairs. There she stood tapping her feet. She had a cigarette in her hand...like always.

"What took you so long?" Her mother said, shoving the phone into her daughters hands.

Priscilla just stared at the floor.

"Y-yeah.....I'm s-sorry mom" she muttered.

"Whatever..." Her mother groaned and headed back to her room. Priscilla placed the phone to her ear

".....h-hello?"

" Priscilla? Oh good! I was beginning to think you'd never pick up"

That voice sounded familiar....it was a voice I couldn't forget.

"Alex?...w-what's up? D-do you need something?"

"I just wanted to know if you're still coming to Edward's Island with us"

Priscilla had actually forgotten about that she agreed to that trip. She didn't really feel like going anywhere. She was just a waste of time...a waste of space, that's how her mother would put it. But...but Alex was her best friend...Her only friend actually. She couldn't let her down. She'd be a terrible friend..

"S-sure....but are there going to be....other...strangers?"

Now Priscilla wasn't a shy girl, she just wasn't the best with people. Her peers just didn't really enjoy or like being around her. She could never figure out why but who was she to question them. It wasn't her place.

"They're really nice..well,most of them"

"M-maybe it'll be better if I stayed home" Priscilla suggested.

"Come on. Please! If you don't feel comfortable then we can just stick together..I promise I'll be right there"

Priscilla sighed and bit her nail. Alex was always trying to gently push Priscilla out of her non social shell. Now She would never force her to do anything she couldn't go though with. Priscilla was very grateful to have a friend like Alex but she always felt that she was being needy, clingy, or just a burden on Alex.

"......O-okay"

"Great! Meet in five and we'll head to the docks"

"Kay.....sure....."

Priscilla hung up the phone and began to bite her nail once more. She tried to get excited but all she felt was bitter taste in her mouth and a the fluttering of butterflies in the pit of her stomach, not  the good ones either.

"Why do I have such a bad feeling about this........"
