It was early in the morning, Dream was sitting in the kitchen slowly sipping coffee. He sighed and laid back against the chair, tilting his head towards the ceiling. George stood in the hallway, barely awake and rubbing his eyes. He took a few steps further into the kitchen, stepping on a creaky floorboard causing Dream to immediately look over at him.

"Oh hey George, good morning" Dream shifted his gaze from George's sleepy eyes to his messy bedhead.

"Morning..." George let out a yawn as soon as the last syllable left his mouth.

George walked to the coffee maker and started to brew himself a cup of coffee. Dream could tell he was tired and decided not to try and start any conversations with him yet. It was only fair considering that he'd flown all the way out to Florida and was probably experiencing severe jetlag. Dream watched carefully as George leaned his elbows on the counter, placing his weight on them. His form resembled that of a true gamer, or at least that's what Dream was thinking to himself.

George sat down with his freshly brewed cup of coffee. "Dream, why are you just sitting there sipping coffee like an old man who's forgotten to grab the newspaper?" A sleepy smile crossed his face.

Dream chuckled "Well I want to be a good roommate...housemate? I don't know...You just barely know your way around the house and I didn't want you wandering around wondering where I was."

"Oh yeah cause I'm just lost without you" George rolled his eyes in a 'hopeless romantic' way, poking fun at Dream.

"You know you are." Dream made a kissy face at the boy in front of him.

"Oh my god Dream you look like a fish" George laughed loudly, throwing his head back and holding his stomach as tears pricked his eyes.

Dream rolled his eyes, punching George playfully as he got up to wash his mug. The suds washed over Dream's hands, soaking his steel rings, leaving his fingers wet even after he dried them. He turned around, putting his mug back into the cabinet. As he did so, Sapnap walked out of his room and down the hallway, stopping in the doorframe that led to the kitchen.

"Hey guys, just wanted to say a quick goodbye before I leave" He smiled, giving a light tap to his suitcase.

George and Dream both said goodbye to Sapnap as he apologized for the 10th time for leaving George's first day in Florida. Luckily for him, George didn't seem to mind, claiming that he still had Dream. That made Sapnap chuckle naturally. The three of them shared a quick hug before Sapnap rolled his suitcase out of the house, honking his horn as he drove away.

Dream turned to George and smirked at him, "Just you and me huh?"

George rolled his eyes "In your dreams loverboy"

Dream chuckled "I see how it is"

George nodded and turned around, about to walk back to his room, when he heard Dream continue talking.

"Wait where are you going I thought we could hang out" He made a very fake pouty face at George.

"I'm streaming today obviously, it's Minecraft Monday" George rolled his eyes as if he was only stating the obvious.

Dream let out an overdramatic sigh "Ok I guess I'll just go cry in my room then if that's what you want..."

George shook his head without replying and walked to his room, leaving Dream to walk to his. Dream walked to his room in silence, his emotions clouded by something familiar. The panging in his heart when he would leave calls with George. He sighed, lying down in bed and frowning. George was in the same house, yet he still felt the same. Some things never change, at least. Although this gave Dream a feeling of security, he still wasn't sure if that was a good thing. He didn't know what he had expected of living with George at last. Part of him had perhaps wanted things to be the same, just a little bit better. Yet a cobwebbed corner of his heart yearned for something different, something new between him and his best friend, and he was just starting to find out what these feelings meant. Dream let out a long sigh, shaking his head in disappointment. He didn't want to touch these feelings, they were new, and frankly quiet scary. His mind tended to wander when he was in the silence that his room seemed to drown him in. Dream tried to shake himself back to reality, he silenced the thoughts as he sat up and walked to the door. It must have been noon or so because he already felt hungry again. He opened the door and left his room, walking back to the kitchen and making two sandwiches, one for himself and one for George. He walked to George's room and knocked twice, entering without waiting for a response.
