he didn't lash out at her, he lashes out at everyone but he didn't lash out at her on the roof but embraced her. He embraced someone for the first time in years, for the first time after his friend had left.
he surrounded his frozen heart in only the type of warmth that would be able to melt it off.
THE ROOF
we sat besides each other and I glance over at him, "do you want to visit his grave?" i brought up to the male, waiting for a response.
he simply nods and we get up from our seats, "your mom was worried sick, when she called me she couldn't stop stuttering. She was panicking so much."
he remained silent.
both of us went down the stairs, I smiled at the workers. "thank you for helping me find him."
"of course, have a good day both of you. And Sunghoon, cheer up son. Better things will come your way soon." the waiter winked, causing a slight smile to crack open upon sunghoon's mouth because he was able to understand what the waiter was hinting at.
on the way i brought some roses, "jisun loved roses didn't he?"
sunghoon nodded, "they were basic and boring, but he loved them and that was all the mattered. Smelling roses made him happy, now I place them on his grave so he can hold them and be aware that I haven't forgotten that part of him."
it was simple worded yet put so beautifully like a poem, his words. sunghoon's words.
as we ambled toward the grave yard, i link my arm with sunghoon's and i felt my chest heat up but I thought he'd probably want comfort.
I don't know if you relate but growing up, no matter if you were a close friend or not, I always would show my love through physical touch. Holding hands, linking arms, hugs, kisses on the cheek, and so much more I can mention. I'll never grow out of it.
now we stood in front of his grave, his picture shined the brightest among the other graves. That's how bright his aura was. I placed the roses on his grave and sunghoon's sniffling was very audible.
my arms snake around his waist, i pull him into another hug. "it's not fair, he didn't deserve this. I couldn't stop it, Jaeyun couldn't stop it, we couldn't help him."
I shook my head, "don't think like that sunghoon, don't blame yourself. Jaeyun didn't know, you didn't know, nobody knew." i pull him in closer caressing his silky smooth hair.
"sunghoon look." i cup his face, trying to snap some focus into him. "look at his face hoon, just look at it." I turn to face jisun's portrait.
"look how big and bright his smile is, how happily he lived throughout the years of his life." I observed his pearly whites and his twinkling eyes in the photo and sunghoon stared at it as well.
"he's not here now, but when he was living... He lived as joyful as he possibly could before leaving, when you stare at his face, at his smile. Think about how he kept in his smile for you two, despite all of the pain in his heart. Do that for him too."
sunghoon pulls away from the hug, and he nods. She was right.
