- We're leaving in an hour!
- I heard you!
Y/N was in her room, checking one last time to make sure she had everything. She won't see this room for a long time, so she needs to be sure she's got everything she needs. Of course, money wasn't a problem, she could always buy what she needed, but still she preferred not to spend it in vain.
She was filled with excitement. Almost a whole year in England. Just delight. When her brother - Logan - decided to apply for fun, he didn't think that he would be accepted. He wasn't an excellent student, but in his field - music - grades didn't always play a big role. Then, Y/N and her friend also applied for an exchange program at the Imperial College - a university in London itself, and... they were accepted. It was weird if they hadn't passed - they both studied well and, in addition to studying, were also engaged in various social activities at their university.
They all lived in New York - it was a beautiful, lively city with its own flaws. And studied at Columbia University. New York wasn't their hometown - they all came here to study from Chicago, where they all grew up.
Y/N and Logan have been to a lot of places in their lives, but for the most part they were resorts that their parents loved. Their father was a real estate investor and also ran a winery on the west coast, where they often vacationed in the summer. Their mother was the head of one of the large Chicago clinics, and they saw her quite rarely because of her work. But still - they had a good complete family.
When her brother left to study in New York, his parents found him an apartment, or rather, their father gave him one of his apartments in the center. The apartment was big, so he didn't mind when his sister and her friend moved in two years later.
Speaking of friend...
- Y/N, did you collect everything? I can't find my sculpturing tools set. Didn't you see? I really need it, these are custom-made tools, I can't go anywhere without them.
Lola ran into Y/N's room, looking around for her tools. She was a very open girl when talking with close friends and family, and completely closed and quiet with strangers. She was a kind of black sheep in her family - her parents owned a pharmacological company, her older sister was engaged in medicine. And Lola loved ceramics. From the age of 16, she caught fire in this occupation, and is still doing it, she even went to study at the university for a creative specialty, choosing between this and mathematics, in which she was also very gifted.
- Just look again calmly in your work bag, you probably already put them somewhere.
- Damn, I'm so worried, suddenly I forget something. Ohh! I need to check that I turned everything off! And then you imagine, we're flying over the Atlantic Ocean and BAM! You remember that the iron is not turned off! How to get back here?
- Don't worry too much, Damian said that he would sometimes go into the apartment and check if everything is fine here.
- Its a pity that he didn't pass the selection, you will probably miss him.
- Well, it's not surprising. There, for each specialty, 1 place is open for exchange students, and he studies programming. Think for yourself how many programmers are in the world now, this is perhaps the most popular specialty, although I don't know. This is what he tells me.
- It's still a pity. So, did you even say goodbye? Or will he arrive at the airport?
- No, he's still in Chicago with his parents. You know, I think this year will do us good. Ever since he found out he didn't make it, he's been acting aloof, like it's my fault he didn't make it. You know how he is.
