Within the next half hour, the other employees of the café arrived.
At 7 a.m., the café opened, and finally, at 10 a.m., Jasper went on his break. He quickly made himself a coffee in the staff corner.
Sofia, a coworker, walked up to Jasper. Sofia was a pretty woman with bright blue eyes. She shyly tucked her blonde hair behind her ear."Hey, I'm on break too." She sat down next to Jasper and crossed her thin legs. Just as Jasper was about to turn his attention back to his phone, as he was expecting a call from his younger sister, the young woman continued:
"So tell me—" she paused briefly, "Do you have a girlfriend? I've been wondering for a while, you know."
Jasper immediately knew what she was hinting at, but he wasn't in the mood for a relationship right now.
"Sorry if I caught you off guard. I don't know what's wrong with me today. I just think you're super cute and would love to get to know you better." Nervously and uncertainly, she looked everywhere except in Jasper's direction.
No one had ever confessed their feelings to him, so he didn't know how to turn someone down.
"Sorry, but I just see you as a friend." Jasper awkwardly turned away from her and stood up. He left Sofia alone in the corner.
He glanced at the clock. Tomorrow at this time, he would already be sitting at Minerva's. He felt a little excited thinking about standing in front of the big building.
In the evening, he went home exhausted. Tomorrow was "Thursday," and Jasper knew that this day could open all the doors for him.In Norway, Jasper had studied Business Management. Right now, he was thinking about home. He missed his family a lot, even though they hadn't been apart for long.
