The Next Day
It was noon when I woke up, my uncle came in and helped me put my stuff in my car. I had just finished showering when the door bell started blaring.
"Dammit Stiles! Calm yo' self I'm coming!" Stiles smiled sheepishly at me and I motioned them to come in.
"What did you need to tell us?" Lydia demanded getting straight down to business. The rest nodding in agreement.
"Come on there's snacks in the living room." I walked away with them hot on my tail.
"Seriously? Okay what is wrong? You only bring food out to make up to something!" Allison stated, but still they sat.
"Y'all aren't going to like this. But I need to tell you guys. Last night... I decided that I am moving. No not of this house, out of town.. and out of state."
And that's when all chaos went loose. With a whole bunch of whats, why, you can't, and please don't go. After letting that out of their systems I continued,
"As I was saying, I'm Heading to Virginia. Today is my last day here, I'm leaving in a few hours and I wanted to spend this time with you all." I finished explaining. It was quite for a few moments as they were all letting it sink in.
"Okay but where's Derek?" Issac asked.
"He doesn't matter to me anymore as of yesterday when I discovered he cheated on me. Yes that does have a purpose of me leaving, but I have been wanting to go back to traveling and last night gave me the final shove to do so. I'm so sorry I'm just dropping this on y'all now but I promise to stay in touch and come visit every now and then. Just don't hate me, I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I left on bad term with you guys." I said as my eyes started to well.
"We can't hate you even if we tried." Scott said breaking the silence that had fell upon us. The gang nodded in agreement with him.
"Okay enough with this depressing mode then. Let's make the last few hours memorable." Peter announced talking for the first time since he arrived.
The next few hours was a happy bliss full of laughter, smiles and just happiness. But like all good things, they must come to an end. I think everyone knew what was happening. Everyone got quiet and yet again tears clogged my vision.
"I love you guys, no matter what you all are my family. Always remember I am just a few clicks away on the phone." With that i was bundled into a group hug. A few minutes later we tore apart and I made my way out of my house towards my car. Just as I was opening the door I heard a voice I dreaded to hear.
"So you weren't even going to say goodbye?"
"Well what else do you want me to say Derek?" My tone coming off bitter.
"I don't want you to say anything, I just want you to listen." His voice full of desperation, making me almost give in. Almost.
"Let you explain? What the hell do you need to explain? You cheated on me! Not only that but you did it when I thought you were dead! But you weren't you were rolling around in the sheets with that slut while I went crazy thinking I lost you! So no forgive me for not wanting to listen to your pathetic excuses. I am so done with you Derek! You don't deserve a goodbye." With one last glare and a shaky smile to the group I got in my car, not daring to take a glance back knowing I'd end up turning around. But I won't, I am going to keep going and begin a new chapter in my life, one without Derek. Goodbye Beacon Hills, hello new future.
