Princess Aliyah.
Once upon a time, in a land long forgotten, lived a princess named Aliyah. Princess Aliyah was beautiful, with long locks of golden curls, glowing sapphire eyes and full red lips; she was the image of perfection. On an exquisite day there was a ball to be held at the palace were all of the friends and family members of the royal family would gather in the Ball room to dance and laugh. So the princess skipped to her room and put on her new silk purple gown and ran to the ball room in excitement. Princess Aliyah into the room all of the knights and princes turned to stare at the stunning princess. Aliyah was unaware of this and walked over to her best friend Lady Maria, who had just come back from her journey to Italy.
“Maria! It’s so lovely to see you! Im glad that you could come, in such short notice!” Gushed the princess.
“Now Aliyah! You must know me well enough to know that I would never miss a ball! I would come even if i were on my death bed!” Maria finished. “Do you like my gown?” She asked twirling around to show off her green velvet dress.
“It’s so soft!” Aliyah noted, smoothing down the fabric. “The colour suits you perfectly!” Exclaimed Aliyah, clapping her hands in approval. All she said was true, with Maria’s auburn ringlets, pale complexion and chocolate eyes, it suited her perfectly. Hours passed as dances began and a waltz started.
“Princess, would you do me the honour of joining me in this Dance?” Aliyah turned around to see the most handsome man at the ball. He was tall and broad shouldered with dark wavy hair and deep endless eyes. Aliyah gave a gentle nod and let herself be led into the middle of the ball room. He led her around and around in an array of graceful spins and turns.
“Oh! I do apologize! If you don’t mind me asking, what is your name?” The dazed princess asked realizing the dance had finished.
“Sorry! Please excuse my lack of manors; I dare say your beauty is nothing I have ever seen before.” Aliyah felt herself blush.
“You make yourself sound like a man with much experience. You must have many beautiful women falling in love with you i suppose?” his eyes softened as he laughed. Then he stiffened his eyes now serious.
“None as elegant as you princess.” He said, gazing into her eyes. Not quite believing what she heard, cleverly she changed the subject.
“You still didn’t answer my question, sir.”
“Umm, James, Prince James.” With that he disappeared. Soon after the prince left, the ball ended.
“Go to the door and thank our guests for coming.” Aliyah’s mother ordered. Maria was the last to leave.
“Meet me in Lancombe woods tomorrow midnight.” She whispered.
“My mother won’t let me go out at that hour!”
“Then find a way it’s important!” Then Maria dashed out of the door leaving the princess stunned. Her best friend wanted her to sneak out! How would she get pass the guards? What would her mother do if she found out? Still, Aliyah reminded herself. Maria wouldn’t ask her to do this unless it was serious; she had said that it was important. Her mother’s angry voice interrupted her worried thoughts.
