When born in a burning house, it was easy to believe the whole world was on fire too.

But it wasn't.

It took Arisa years to come to terms with this fact, for she had come to familiarize herself with the chaos of a home divided. She much sooner learned of the three sides to every story— her mother's, her father's, and the truth. Always forced to pick one, never free to speak her truth.

She was sick. Tired of being unable to live free in her own home, much less her own body. She spent many nights laying in bed and focusing on the sound of her heart beating, for it was the one thing that never changed.

Every minute, every hour, every day, she was a different version of herself for different people, but who was she really? She had a serious case of imposter syndrome that only increased due to her quirk, and a crazy idea of how she might cure it lied at the bottom of her book bag.

Arisa would get into U.A. High School— more importantly, she'd get into the hero course. She'd train as heroes did, learn from them, and when it came down to it... maybe, just maybe, she'd have the strength to become one.
