Kisaki Tetta, that was his name.

The boy that I saved.

He seemed weird but I couldn't help but be interested in him.

I met him when I was just 8.

He was one of the boys in 1st grade...the one they called a prodigy

The first time I met him was when some boys were bullying him.

I was playing around with a soccer ball when I saw some bullies targeting someone. I didn't like bullies so I immediately stopped them. I stood protectively in front of the boy they were bullying. They did try to fight back despite knowing that I'm stronger but they eventually ran away.

Looking back at the boy behind me I took note of his features, short black hair, dark blue eyes, silver glasses, petite and small body. He was shorter than me, he seemed shocked but at the same time, tired?

"Are you alright?" I asked him, as I checked to see if he had any injuries. He had a small bruise on his shoulder but other than that he seemed fine. Noticing that he hasn't responded to me I looked up at him, he was avoiding my gaze, looking in another way. I picked up his stuff that was on the ground, stood up and looked down at him since he was shorter than me.

"Hey" I said, trying to get his attention. He looked at me with an unreadable face. "Is everything ok? Come on, let's bring you to the infirmary ''I said to him as I grabbed his hand and led him to the school infirmary. I stopped immediately because he wasn't moving at all. I looked at him, and saw him clenching his fist before looking down. I followed his gaze towards his foot and saw that there was a bruise on his ankle. I was surprised, I didn't see that when I checked him.

"Hey, can you stand straight?" To which he did as I asked. "I'm sorry if this makes you uncomfortable but" I said as I held his waist, "we need to get you to the infirmary now." I continued as I picked him up. I heard a small gasp from him.

I walked to the infirmary while carrying him in my arms. I could see other students looking at us but I paid no mind to it and continued to walk towards the infirmary. Once I reached the infirmary I knocked twice and opened the door. I placed the boy on one of the chairs while a nurse approached us. She asked us what was wrong and I told her about the boy's ankle injury. She proceeded to inspect the injury and began tending to it. After a few minutes she finished and assured the boy that it'll heal soon to which he nodded at her. She told us that we could stay here for some time and then left.

I turned to the boy beside me. "Hey." I called to him, "what's your name?" . He turned to look at me. "Kisaki...kisaki tetta." he replies in a hushed tone. I smile at him, "nice to meet you kisaki-san."

Since that day, we both have interacted with each other more and more. When I turned 10, my family and I moved to another country. I lost contact with Kisaki.

I was 15 when I came back to Japan and met with him again.

He looked different, but I still recognized him. His once black hair now dyed to blonde and pale skin now tan. Everything about him was different. He told me that he was a delinquent now, a gang member at that.

I was concerned of course, but we just decided to spend our time like we did when we were kids.

Now these are all just memories. Memories that I want to relive again. But I can't dwell on the past now.I stood up from my seat and stood in front of his grave. I place the banquet of flowers in my hand right in front of the tombstone.

I knelt down. "Somehow i regret not telling you how i felt, even though i knew that you wouldn't care, i should've still done it just to remove this dreadful weight on my heart."

"I hope you will rest well.."
