Wednesday -
It's been two days ever since that accident with Wonjae and I have been avoiding him since yesterday. Thank God that he and I have different shifts tomorrow. The thing is.. Wonjae isn't here today. He might be late?
"Thank you for coming!" I say after the customer bought some soju. I have noticed that most of the people have been buying alcohol. I like drinking but I don't drink a lot. I had to be behind the counter since Hyun-jung couldn't come in today. Something came up.
"Trying to avoid stocking the shelves?" Kiseok approached with a smile. I was annoyed by him on my first day but now he's one of the workers I find fun. "Definitely." I laugh, putting the scanner down.
"I've noticed that you've been avoiding Wonjae a lot yesterday. Anything happened?" He asked, resting his elbows on the counter so now he was leaning towards me. I let out a sigh, wanting to forget the embarrassing moment.
"Sungwoo said he hasn't eaten anything so I prepared ramen for him." I say, already cringing at the memory. I wanted to turn back time and not make the noodles for him.
"And then?"
"He bumped into me then I accidentally spilled the ramen on him so.." I pursed my lips, eyes on Kiseok to see his reaction. He tilted his head. "He got mad?"
"No—Not really? I don't know. He just snapped at me when I was trying to help him." I say as Yugyeom finally joined in on the convo. He had a basket full of expired items from the shelves. "I get why you're trying to avoid him. It's okay. Take your time to get comfortable." He smiled sweetly at me.
Yugyeom is such a sweet guy. I feel so giddy whenever I talk to him. Before anyone could say anything, the person I wasn't expecting to show up at work arrived.
"Oh? You're an hour late." Kiseok pointed out.
I watched as Wonjae explained the reason why but I didn't bother making eye contact with him or anything. "I couldn't find a cab so I walked here. It was so annoying." He says, walking towards the break room with Kiseok following right behind him, leaving Yugyeom and I alone.
"I'm kinda bitter that I don't have a shift with you tomorrow." Yugyeom says with a frown.
"We just met two days ago and you're already attached to me?" I say with a big smile. He's so cute. "You're very fun to be with! Thursday and Friday shifts will be boring as hell without you."
"I feel the same way, Gyeom, but don't worry. We can always meet outside of work, you know?" I reminded him. His eyes light up at the idea. "Let's have breakfast tomorrow before you start your shift." He says excitingly making my heart melt.
