CHASE CLYDE IS A TICKING BOMB. From fighting in the schoolyard to talking back at home, his attention span only lasts seconds which would get him into trouble. So when the infection began, chaos traveled neighborhoods, and seven year old Chase began to fight his way out with his mother and father behind him, he wasn't meant to see anything like this he was just a kid.
SAGE CLYDE DIDN'T HAVE ANOTHER CHOICE. All she had to do was keep her family safe, so the fireflies were an option, her mission was easy, be a spy inside the Boston group, check and hear what the people in charge had planned, and if it was necessary, attack, or at least tell the rest of the fireflies so they could take charge.
MARLENE KNEW WHAT SHE HAD DONE. It was dangerous, a risky mission for a mother but, she didn't know what else to do. She lives with the memory and guilt as she watched the body of Sage Clyde burn, she lives tormented watching the young boy Chase turn into a broken man.
CHASE CLYDE IS UNAWARE AND LOYAL. His mother had passed away because of FEDRA, he wanted them destroyed, so he became a Firefly, following his mother's footsteps. He followed Marlene, he listened to her orders, he trusted her.
ELLIE WILLIAMS WAS MEANT TO BE SAVED. Marlene had to take her away from Boston, Chase didn't understand why there was a child locked up, but he knew she had a reason. And when a deal goes wrong and the fireflies go down and Marlene gets hurt, its on Chase's hands to protect the kid.
JOEL AND TESS WERE THE GUIDES. Leaving the perimeter into a land where the dead roam, Chase couldn't have done it alone. He knew that he had to be brave.
A BOMB WAS READY TO EXPLOTE. Chase knew things weren't meant to be safe, people would hunt them, places had to be searched and become some kind of refuge for them, secrets were about to come out of the light.
