CHAPTER 19

We were in that cave until it got dark outside. I'm worried about this kid who's sleeping soundly beside me. Her parents must be so worried about her now, so I tried waking her up by shaking her body a little bit.

"Hmmmm... ano ba... tutulog pa ako e," She unconsciously responded while scratching her nose.

I would have found her cute if we were in different circumstances, but she has to really get up now and go home to her parents. I can just maybe stay here for a few more days until the outside is clear, and that's when I'll continue my escape plan.

After a couple of minutes of me waking her up, she finally got herself up and looked around, "Hala...gabi na?"

Her eyes went big after realizing it.

"Tara na, kuya. Uwi kita sa'min, baka nandiyan pa 'yung mga bad guys hinahanap ka."

She held my hand, trying to get me up, and at the same time, someone barged into the cave. It was a middle-aged woman.

"Naku, itong batang 'to talaga. Sinasabi ko na nga ba't nandito ka lang e," she said while both her hands were on her hips.

Relief was all over her face after she said that. Confusion was the next thing I saw on her face after she looked at me. That's maybe because she's got no idea why I got here with this kid.

"Eh, kasi tita tinulungan ko si kuya. May bad guys kasi, kawawa naman siya 'pag mahuli s'ya ng mga 'yun,"she answered apologetically to the woman she called "tita".

Her aunt immediately got worried after learning about it.

"Diyos ko, ano'ng nangyari? Kaya ba kayo nagtago dito sa kweba?"

"Opo, tita. Tapos nakatulog po ako pagkatapos." The kid said while dusting her dress.

"Oh, siya! Halika na nang makauwi na tayo."

She held Shenshen's hand as she went to the outside of this cave, but the kid let go of her aunt's hand.

"Tita, hindi ko pwede iwan si kuya dito. Pa'no 'pag mahanap siya ng bad guys dito? Hindi din siya nakakapagsalita tita. Isama natin siya please?" She pleaded to her aunt for me.

My heart was so warm after hearing those words from her. We just met, and yet this kid can instantly warm my heart and loosen me up.

Her aunt looked at me; worries were still on her face, so I shook my head at her, signaling to her that they may go now. I can't have them or Shenshen get involved with me, as I don't want her to get hurt.

Her aunt sighed at that and looked at Shenshen.

"Wala doon sa bahay niyo ang mga magulang mo dahil may biglaan silang lakad kasama ang kapatid mo, kaya sige dun muna kayo sa bahay maglagi," she instantly gave in to Shenshen.

I was surprised to hear that from her. How could these people do this to strangers?

Eventually, I went along with them, as I thought it might be the best option for me to escape.

Once we get to their house, I will contact my grandma and have her get me out of here. I no longer expect anything from my parents, as they might be out of the country at this time.

"Kuya, maligo ka muna doon sa banyo para mabango ka na." Shenshen nudged at me while pointing to the small bathroom.

"Mabuti pa nga totoy, ikukuha lang kita ng bihisan mo." Her aunt agreed with her while heading towards a room, maybe to get some clothes.
