"It seems like Kunikuzushi is affecting you, Aka.."

"Huh?-" You stopped swinging your wooden katana and turned to Ei. "What do you mean..?"

"I heard him too.." Ei said as her gaze soften.

"Y-you mean-"

"Yes, I could hear his screams.. But I couldn't do anything about it.." She said as she continue sipping green tea. She is sitting at the small square table. Every training you do with her, she always made you swing your katana first as a warm up before the actual training.

"What do you mean you couldn't do anything?" You asked as you grip the wooden katana firmly.

"Because the gnosis that he holds, have memories of the past holder. Which is Makoto and.. me. And there is no way to erase the memories.." She said as she sips her green tea.

"Then.. you're just gonna let him suffer every night?" You asked.

"..." She didn't say anything, only staring back at you.

The staring contest ended with Ei sighing. She sets down her cup. "I thought of taking back the gnosis from him-"

"And discard him?" You asked, anger evident in your tone. Feeling quite protective over the said puppet.

"That was what I originally thought of.. But maybe it was too cruel." She said as she looks down.

She look back up at you. "So, what do you think, Aka?" She asked.

"I.." You went silent, you don't know. Yes, taking away the gnosis from him is the best way to stop him from having those nightmares. But then, he serves no purpose in here. It would be like letting a stranger in your house. Wouldn't it be annoying?

Wait-

What was her thoughts of Kunikuzushi? Would she let him be in here if you ask her for it. But then, wouldn't she feel irritated? Cuz like.. Kuni is then useless to her. So like- why would she want him there.

Many thoughts runs through your mind, thinking what is the best way.

"I will ask him later." You conclude.

"Maybe killing him would sound like a great idea right?"

You stop walking and turn to Lily who is walking beside you. You furrowed your eyebrows, not believing what she just said. "What.. did you just said?"

"If I am the one who is controlling right now,.. I would've just agree with Ei." She said as she smiled innocently. "It's better than living in this cruel world right?" She chuckles.

"But.. everyone deserves to feel what it's like to live!" You debate, not liking her thoughts.

"But what is the point of living if you're only suffering?" She said.

"Ei will take back the gnosis, you know. So he doesn't have to see those horrifying nightmares anymore! He can finally live normally without having to remember those traumatising memories!" You said firmly as you walk pass her.

But she catches up with you in no time. "And what is the purpose of him living after that? Simply living?" She laughs mockingly. "He is immortal until something kills him. Just you wait for another few years and he will wish that he dies." She smiled at you evilly before dissipates into the air.

Like a ghost.. 😰

'Damn.. I felt like I just talked to my darkness..' You thought as you stop in front of Kunikuzushi's door. It's already become a habit for you to check on him after finishing your training before going back to your room.

Just want to check if he's ok.

You open the door slowly. "Kuni~ How are you doing today?" You asked.

You saw him sitting by the window, watching the outside world. Now that you think of it, he never go outside right? You smirk at the idea you just thought of.

You walk closer to Kuni. As you are walking to him, he finally look at you. His eyes slightly puffy. "Oh, Haya-nee.. When were you here?"

You kinda felt proud of what he called you. All those bickering with him about him calling you one-chan is worth it. 🤭

You chuckled. "You didn't hear me greeting you at the door just now?"

He look away from you, embarrassed—you can see the tip of his ears red. "..sorry.."

You sit down slowly next to him. Seeing you want to sit down, he set aside his legs to make room for you.

You sit next to him with your back against the window. Meanwhile he sits like in the drawing. He stares at the busy Inazuma City and the beautiful sky, completely mesmerised by it. You smiled, staring at him.

"Kuni.."

"Hm?" He hummed, still nit taking off his eyes from the scenery.

"Wanna sneak out?"
