" Ha Ma! Yes I'll have my food. Stop worrying about me. I am at a cafe grabbing food right now! " I said rolling my eyes, yet a small smile playing on my lips. Mothers! Always worried about their kids even if they are 28 and not 2.8. Chuckling, I went to place my order.

"Hey bud! Can I have a cup of cappuccino, with a sandwich to go please?" I walked back placing my order and tried to find a place to sit.  It was a Saturday evening, what was I expecting a red carpet welcome? Sighing, I went to a table which had one empty chair available. I saw someone sitting down with a travel backpack and reading a book. I recognised she was a woman with long hair. "Umm. Excuse me. Do you mind if I take this chair opposite you? Actually there is no other place that's available right now." I asked and she nodded without glancing away from the book and showed a thumbs up.

I sat down going through my emails to check my schedule for the next week and just then the waitress served my order blushing looking at me. She kept glancing back while serving me and I turned to look what it was and saw few other women, the waitresses of the cafe trying to check me out, chuckling at them I winked at her and gave her a tip. She placed the order and ran away. Teenagers and their crushes.

I noticed, it wasn't my order so, I knocked on the book of the lady sitting opposite me. She moved the book a little down from her face and asked me what with her eyes. I too pointed to the coffee with my eyes and she finally put her book down to drink her coffee. And that's when I got to see her face and man oh man if my heart didn't skip a beat. She looked at me and said, "thank you so much" only I know how I managed to smile back.

I started aimlessly scrolling through my phone again so as to not stare at her like a creep, when a cookie appeared in front of my eyes. I looked up to see her offering me a cookie. I raised an eyebrow and asked her with my eyes what was it for and she replied with the same way and said "for the coffee". I smiled taking the cookie and biting into it. I went back to looking at my phone when she said, " I thought this was your cue to start a conversation. Didn't know a pretty man could be so dumb" and then... Silence.

-----------------Mehr Khanna -----------------

Oh shit! Oh shit! what did I just do. What in the world is even wrong with me!!! I looked up to him smiling nervously to see him looking at me with amusement filled eyes. He raised an eyebrow trying to control his laughter. "I am so sorry, that totally came out wrong. I didn't mean to say that at all." I said in a muffled voice trying to hide away from him.  He held my hands and removed them from my face, smiled at me and said "Don't worry I can be like this too sometimes. Besides, it was cute." and my face turned a shade redder than it already was.

Just then his food arrived and our moment broke. I started drinking my coffee and he initiated a conversation about the bags I was carrying. I started telling him about my love for travel and how it was my dream to travel the world before I was 40. And how I was only 15 years away from it.

We were drinking coffee and he leaned in, looking at me intently and asked me in his deep voice, "So mohatarma, tell me more about your adventures. Where all have you been and where all will you go next?" His look coupled with that word in his voice sent shivers down my spine and had me blushing like a school girl.  I opened my mouth to speak and just then my phone started ringing. I answered it and my assistant Rahim started speaking on the other end, "Ma'am sorry to disturb you on your off day but we have some matters that need your immediate attention. Would you be able to drop by for a few minutes?" I agreed and got up from my seat. I dialled Sanjay kaka to bring the car around and pick me up. "I am so sorry, I need to rush for a work meeting, some another time for sure." He gave me a smile but there was a hint of disappointment in his eyes that I couldn't miss. Asking Sanjay kaka to pick up my bags, I moved to the counter to pay the bill. I felt him before I saw him, he held my hand and said, let me take care of this. I was about to disagree, but he stopped me. He said he wanted to make this a meeting to remember. The look in his eyes made me say yes. As he turned to pay the bill, my car arrived and moved out waving a good bye to him.

---------------------- Author's POV ----------------------

As Arjun turned around after paying the bill, he saw her leave the restaurant. She was wearing sun glasses and stepping into the car. Her tailbone length hair swaying due to the wind. Dropping the bag she sat down and turned. That's when their eyes met. He could have sworn that his heart skipped multiple beats. She smiled at him displaying her beautiful dimples waving a good bye and he melted like ice cream on a hot summer day.

With a goofy smile he turned around and walked back to the table. Sitting down he ordered another cup of coffee for himself and stared at the chair where the dear stranger was sitting. He was instantly reminded of her long flowing hair with the power to envelope him and his senses.

He was about to leave when he spotted her book, the one she was reading when he walked in. He couldn't help but pick it up and smell it. It reminded him of her, a may rose and jasmine with a hint of orange in it. The ambery scent lingering in the air long after she was gone. He opened the book, and read a message; it was dedicated to her and that's when he read the name, Mehr! A name that was Irresistibly sensual, irrepressibly spirited just like her. Trying to shake away the thoughts of her he walked out of the cafe, holding the book close to his heart sporting a smile that seemed permanent since the time he laid his eyes on her!
