Catherine's heart raced in her chest as she drove her car to the McGarrett household as quickly as she could. She was so upset her mother had broken her promise, her kids were in danger with Steve. Catherine rested her elbow on the side of the door as she drove thinking about how she was gonna talk to Steve about this. She could only imagine how furious he must be with her she herself would be incredibly frustrated. Passing over the bridge she thought about her beautiful girls she couldn't believe Steve when he told her Stephanie thought she didn't love her.
Her children were safe with her mother. Too many enemies in Hawaii especially with Steve. Even if it wasn't Hawaii her enemies and his always found them. It's exactly why she had the paperwork drawn up for her mom they had an agreement and she broke it. I guess that paperwork didn't survive in death it was never in agreement when she died she couldn't tell him. Her mother would pull that fast one on her she was always against her not telling him. Catherine's eyes watered at the thought of her mom, she was so upset with herself for missing the funeral. Shaking her head she sighs she knew crying wouldn't help with her sorrow only make it worse. Pulling into the driveway she sees her youngest playing at the top with chalk. Shutting off her engine she just watches as she colors a flower in with purple. It made her extremely nervous that her daughter had yet to notice or acknowledge her.
"Hey kiddo," Catherine yells to her as she closes the door looking for Steve surely he didn't leave her out here alone.
"Mommy! You're home!" Julie jumps up and runs as fast as her little legs can carry her before she jumps into Catherine's arms. Catherine holds her close and smells her daughters hair it was a scent that comforted her tremendously. She loved her children more than anything but she had made so many enemies over the years it made them vulnerable.
"Julie, did you see me pull in? We talked about this honey you gotta pay attention to your surroundings." Julie sighed and rested her head on her mother's shoulder before shaking her head no.
"No, I was coloring with the chalk."
"Sweetheart you have to pay att-"
"She's fine, I had my eyes on her the whole time Catherine. Do you really think I'd let our eight year old daughter be outside by herself in this world we live in?" Catherine snaps her eyes from her daughter to Steve.
"Daddy! Mommy is home! Mommy are you gonna stay here with us?" Catherine and Steve both looked at their daughter unsure of what to say.
"Come here baby, let's get you some lunch and then me and mommy are gonna talk." Steve reached over to grab her out of Catherine's arms but Julie clung to her mother.
"It's fine Steve. I got her." Steve nods as he heads in the house as Catherine follows with Julie in tow.

"Thank you daddy." Julie sat down in front of the sandwich and carrots her father had just made for her.
"You're welcome, kiddo eat up. Mommy and I are just gonna step outside to have a little chat okay." Julie nods and sways her feet in the chair as she takes a bite of the carrot. Steve walks out of the slider door before he slowly shuts it and walks towards the beach. He wanted to be the furthest away from the house so his children didn't hear them fighting. He stood there looking at Catherine before the rage bellowed out.
"What the fuck Catherine! Are you kidding me? Two secret kids! Is this why you kept disappearing on me! I hope you have a damn good explanation for this. I've missed half of their lives! Are you kidding me? I can't even believe you right now. Do you have any idea how incredibly selfish you are for this?" Steve yelled at Catherine who stood there shell shocked. The man had never yelled at her one time in the almost twenty years they'd been seeing each other.
