Heart Broken

Prologue

"Where are we, Josh?" I asked, now getting quite annoyed. He uncovered the blindfold as my eyes widened. There were rollercoaster rides everywhere, and shops with cute little hats and bows.
"Omg, this is amazing!" I looked up at him gratefully, before springing on him, giving him the biggest hug I could muster. Together, we went on all the rides for the day, having a quick drink and snack, we set off back towards our house. When we parked outside my house, I saw my mother- well, technically my Aunt, but she felt like a mother, smiling at us broadly through the kitchen window. You could tell that she was washing up as she was wearing her usual yellow gloves and her stripy apron. I said farewell to Josh and gave him another hug, before entering my household.
"Where'd he take you then?" I heard a small young voice from behind me. Danny, of course.
"He took me to Disneyland!" I replied kindly to my younger brother. I clambered up the stairs tirelessly, before flopping down onto my bed ungracefully. I sighed, school tommorow, at least I get to see Lia. Happily, I smiled to myself and got changed into my pink pyjamas with purple stars on, and slipped my feet into my fluffy pink slippers before walking calmly down the stairs again. My eyes hit Danny's as I saw him playing with his Thomas the tank engine toys, as I walked past him, reaching the kitchen. Tirelessly, I grabbed a mug from the cupboard and placed the milk on the counter, before pouring it into the mug. I gently lowered the mug into the microwave and got a spoon and the sachets with the hot chocolate powder, trying to reach everything before the microwave had heated it all up. When I had heard the microwave start to beep, I beamed proudly, as I had waited for it to finish. After I'd made the hot chocolate, I went into the sitting room, sitting down on the sofa and watched Danny, slowly sipping the hot liquid. I placed the mug back in the sink before sauntering up to my room again and snuggled Into the bed covers before slowly falling into a light sleep.
