Aldritch's pov

It was always clear to me that I was quite average. I never had striking looks, with my brown eyes, thin lips, and common American build. Being from a supernatural world where beauty was almost ethereal, I always felt like an oddball. To make things worse, my talents seemed to follow the same path. I was a werewolf from the prestigious Redmoon pack; the most powerful pack in the world, under the queen. My beta blood wouldn't have been a big deal if it weren't for the fact that I was the only heir to the most powerful alpha.

As I gazed out of the window, lost in my thoughts, the raindrops pelted the glass with a relentless force. I couldn't help but ponder over my social status, which by conventional standards should have made me quite popular with the ladies since my puberty days. However, the bitter truth was that my life was devoid of such beauty. Suddenly, a knock on the window jolted me out of my reverie. Despite the rain lashing against my face, I rolled down the window to see who was there.

"It's time, sir" I gave a curt nod as my response as I followed the bulky man out of the car and into the eerie apartment.

My average existence was once a bother to me, questioning the point of my bland existence but I realized things weren't as dramatic as I thought it was. My life as a supernatural would be fruitless because all those who could claim my father's status would always see me as a threat. My father tried to train me several times, but I was never interested. What was the point? This was my last mission, and then I could disappear from the supernatural.

I was supposed to pick up a toddler, from this run-down orphanage and bring her to headquarters then I could be on my merry way to human life.

I had made plans for my life the minute I stopped caring about how I never fit in with my people. I had dreams, ambitions, and most importantly, I had purpose. One would be surprised how fast all these change.

I personally had no idea, but I would find out the minute I walked into that building
