A little Andy walks down a flower yard, admiring all of the colors. He laughed, rolling down the hill, getting dirty while do so. He giggled, walking back up the hill, rolling down again, loving the feeling of being so free.

Andy picked up some flowers, deciding to give them to him mom as a present. He wanted her to love him, something he never got. His mom was an addict of many thinks, making her crazy. She would never go to the mental hospital, she couldn't. Her family had history for going their and she didn't want to be apart of it.

She was abusive because of all of the drugs taking over her body. She made poor little Andy do all of the house work when he's only six. The only time he only gets time to be himself is when he's with Ezra, his friend.

Ezra's mom is friends with Andy's mom, that's how they're so close. Plus, both of the moms are on drugs.

Andy grabbed a dandelion with a red rose, smelling them. He just got back from school and wanted to take a different path that now led him here. His small hands touched all the other flowers, small tears rolling down his face because he couldn't stay there forever. He knew he had to go clean up mamas' mess then make dinner.

He usually took a nap after that unless his mom was angry and beat him.

His small legs ran home, a smile on his face as he wiped his tears. Opening the door. It smelt like cigars that install replaced the smell of flowers that had been planted in Andy's sense.

His mom was talking to Ezra's mom, Ezra on the couch, playing with her fingers. She heard the door open, seeing Andy she smiled, knowing not to talk while the adults were. Andy showed her the flowers, pointing to his mom.

His mom had a beer in her hand, wrapping a cigar, a dirty crop top on and black pants. Her hair was shoulder length, going in different ways. She looked just like Andy except the eyes and rosy cheeks he had gotten from his father that was out of the picture.

He dropped his backpack, taking off his shoes, making sure the flowers don't get damaged. Andy went to his mom, tapping her arm. She looked up, not seeing anything so she looked down, seeing Andy with a smile on his face. She instantly scowled, getting mad at how he got to be happy but she wasn't.

"What?"' She spat out, anger clear in her voice. "I got you flowers!" Andy showed them to her. Andy's mom rolled her eyes, scoffing.

She took a big gulp of her alcohol, swinging it to the side of his face. Some of the chards stayed in his face while the rest went all over the floor.

Andy's eyes darkened as he felt the pain explore his body like a drug. "Fucking brat. Get the fuck out of my goddamn sight, fucking disappointment!" She yelled, grabbing a fist full of his hair. Ezra gasped, seeing what was in his face. Andy still smiled, but only now an evil smirk on his face.

"Mommy that hurt!" He whined, placing the flowers in her lap. "What the hell?!" Andy's mom yelled as she felt something in her arm, blood flowing out of it.

Andy's mom grabbing the nearest thing to her that happened to be a knife and sliced it across his face, halfway blinding him. At the same time, the glass cut open her arm, blood going everywhere, screams erupting from her mouth as her life flashed before her eyes... literally.

Andy felt powerful, but also crazy. He knew what he did, yet he didn't. Some part of him wanted to do that for a long time, another part wanted to just cry and beg for his mom to open her eyes.

"Andy!" Ezra yelled, going to his side. "What did you do?!" She shouted. Andy finally started to panic, looking at what he had done. "I-I- I don't know!" He yelled, trying to wipe the blood off of him.

Ezra's mom called the police, saying that they would be here in five minutes, all the drunkenness kicked out of her. "I'm a mess and I'm sorry, Ezra. Mommy only became like this because of her! I'm so sorry. I wish to be a better mom, I think about it everyday, but knowing that she pays our bills, I couldn't stop," Ezra's mom had hit, fast tears rolling down his face. Ezra's mom hugged Ezra, apologizing to the nine year old.

"I'm sorry, Andy for everything your mom did to you. And- fuck! Shit! Your eyes!" Ezra's mom hurried to the bathroom, getting bandages. When she came back, Ezra was skillfully taking out the glass, breaking her heart even more because she knew Ezra knew how to do this because of her.

"I'm going to put something over your eyes, okay?" Andy nodded, still not being able to comprehend what just happened. Andy winced as alcohol touched his eyes. Ezra's mom tried her best to put the wrap over his head while not hurting him.

The police busted the door open, guns in hand. They looked at the woman that's dead, then the kids and woman in the middle of the living room. "Hands up!" One of the said while another bender her over a counter, putting her hand behind her back.

Then, he heard some gun shots, cries, and shouts. He was kicked, tears going out of his eyes.

Ezra picked him up, not knowing exactly what to do. She ran out of the house, running blocks away, leaving everything she ever knew behind.
