The White Lightning

Chapter 3: New Home, New Life, New Segment. I really don't want to be here.

Anni felt as if she just got run over. I and the satyr, which named himself 'Wand', had Hippolytus and Junnie (that is so much easier to say, yet he slapped me for it) on their backs while they shot arrows at monsters to and fro.

 When he mentioned 'trouble', I didn't think of two strange chimeras chasing us down? I was faster than Wand, as I was a track and field champion, so I was lugging him on.

It was strange seeing Junnie be as great as Hippolytus with a bow and arrows. It was like he was the one we were looking for. The second chimera blew fire at Wand, and I picked him up on my back. 

Having three people on my back is a pain in the ass.

"How's it going down there?" Hippolytus screamed, shooting the chimera's serpent tail. Junnie hit the first one's eyes, it screeched and fell to dust.

"Stop the small talk and help, idiot!" He yelled, trying to aim but failing. Wand bumped into Junnie as he nocked an arrow and his bow fell from his hands, so did Wand. 

The chimera stepped on the bow, he saw Wand and headed for him, but he ran as quickly as I did and took Hippolytus off my shoulders.

However, something else was off my shoulder. Or more, someone.

Junichiro bellowed in rage as he jumped off my back, no weapons on him. I stopped, Wand and Hippolytus did the same, and ran towards him. I could practically hear the chimera laugh at him, saying he was stupid. 

As it began to attack, Junichiro front flipped over it, kicking the goat's head in the process. He slid onto the serpent tail and bit it off.

Now Junnie wasn't the only one enraged. I took out my pocket knife and stuck it between the nostrils. Junnie jumped onto its back and took the knife out with a back flip. Hippolytus bombarded it with arrows all over the place.

"Can this turn into anything more useful?!" He screamed, I thought for a moment then remembered my mothers powers of battle. I smiled and nodded.

But the only thing it turned into was a kunai. Junnie wasn't surprised, but I shushed him before he could say anything. "Shut up and watch." I told him.

The chimera tried striking at Junnie again, but he straddle jumped over and poked the goat's eyes. "Hurry up!" He commanded. I opened the button and it turned into a shiny greek sword.

A xiphos.

Hippolytus gasped and Junnie took his fingers out of its eyes, his jujitsu clothes stained with blood. I slashed at its face and the second one went away with a screech. 

Junnie screamed and cried at the chimera dust, kicking it away and screaming unholy curses. I never knew he had that in him. Wand went over to apologize to him, but his eyes were bloodshot.

"It's 7:00 PM, we should set up camp. Long Island isn't far away." Hippolytus suggested. I nodded and he let the square turn into the camp tent again. "It fits four people!" He exclaimed, smiling. Wand went inside, followed by Hippolytus, and I tapped Junichiro on the shoulder.

"You alright?" I asked. No response.

"That bow was a gift from my father," He sobbed into his sleeves, "It was a gift from my other dad to him. And-" He sniffled, "And I broke it..!" I patted his back, not going to make a word on how he said other dad.

From the bottom of my heart, I knew sorry wasn't going to cut it. 

"Come on, go head inside. I'll be on watch duty while you sleep."

He nodded and followed inside.
