STEVEN UNIVERSE DOES NOT BELONG TO ME

╰─..★.────────────────────╯

White is all light combined.

Yellow is the end of the spectrum with a higher wavelength.

Blue is the end of the spectrum with a lower wavelength.

Pink is the sweet color between red and white.

Black, however, is the complete absence of light.

Diamonds are made from billions of carbon atoms that are compressed with intense pressure and intense heat that over the course of many years rise to the surface. However, the diamonds of your planet are not the same as those of others. Like the diamonds of Homeworld, they rise to become the embodiment of power, abilities unlike the likes of anything anyone has ever seen. These powers were then used to create the life that would populate the planet. Pearls, Rubies, Sapphires, Peridots, and all other kinds of gems were created and they all lived for one thing, to serve their Diamond.

White was the leader and oversaw expanding the identity of all Gemkind, Blue and Yellow who were second-in-command oversaw Homeworld's military and culture respectively. Then there was one more, Pink Diamond, the smallest of them. She was in charge of throwing balls and parties to celebrate the achievements of her fellow diamonds.

Now since Pink was so small and still very young as a gem she never had colonies of her own, unlike Blue, Yellow, and White who owned hundreds each. Though no matter how she cried or begged the Diamonds never gave her a colony, saying she wasn't ready yet and to just focus on planning her future parties.

Years passed and nothing seemed to change until finally! They granted her a single colony that would be entirely hers. The planet Earth.

Pink was ecstatic and for the first few hundred years she ran the colony with an iron fist but as time passed Pink began seeing evil in what the gems were doing to these innocent planets.

So she took on the form of Rose Quarts to hide her Diamond roots and rebelled against the very hierarchy she was a part of. Though when she realised it wasn't enough her plans escalated. She faked the death of her Diamond persona to get a reaction from them, though it did get attention it wasn't the one she might have wanted. After years of war, the Diamonds blasted the planet with their combined powers and thought they had gotten rid of all life and that the rebellion was over. This is where the last Diamond comes in.

Black Diamond was created perhaps a thousand years after the death of Pink and the end of the Gem War. There was not a single imperfection within her and she seemed to be the perfect Diamond to take Pink's place. Seeing as Blue and Yellow were still mourning the loss of their precious Pink, White Diamond oversaw and taught Black everything she needed to know.

There was never a moment where Black wasn't seen with White, she kept the younger Diamond at her side at all times and never let her be on her own for any long period of time.

What used to be a sweet relationship soon turned into one filled with pressure and stress. White's expectations grew more and more each day and Black began to crumble. Hundreds of years passed like this until finally... Black snapped.

"Raah!" I slammed my fist into the mirror of my room and watched the shards surrounding my feet. The Pebbles had long since returned to their little rooms, probably much too scared to even look at me right now. That seems to be the case for a lot of gems. Not that I saw many anyway, it's not like I had a court, or a pearl, or... a colony. White said a Diamond like myself shouldn't worry herself with responsibilities like a colony yet. Though she's been saying that for years already.

My fists clenched as my anger rose again and I grabbed the closest thing and threw it across the room. That thing happened to be the chair that used to sit in front of my mirror as it now stood in pieces on the floor. I gripped my hair and fell to my knees as I attempted to stop myself from growing too angry. White said hissy fits weren't becoming of a Diamond.

White...

White Diamond...

Why was it always White Diamond? I hardly spoke to Blue or Yellow as they couldn't look at me without reminiscing about the Diamond I was made to replace.

My walls had many craters in them from these recurring "episodes" as White calls them. My dresses scattered across the ground and my curtains ripped to shreds. They stopped coming in to fix it up after I nearly shattered the gem they sent.

I lifted a shard of glass and looked at my reflection. My hair was a mess and a permanent scowl rested on my face. I threw the shard to the side and looked at the view of homeworld I had from my balcony before slamming my fist down and breaking the rail.

I'm done.

Black was finally done with the mistreatment, she was done with the countless lessons, the berating, the training, the comparing herself with her fellow Diamonds. She was done with it all.

Without taking anything she opened her door and began precisely making her way out of White's head. She avoided any corridors with any other gems in them and was almost to the door when a chilling voice stopped her.

"Where are you off to Starshine?" the Diamond stopped in her tracks and turned to face the much taller one.

"I'm leaving."

"Oh? And where are you leaving to? I hope you'll be back in time for your next lesson."

"I'm sorry but I don't think I will be. See I'm leaving, for good, and there's nothing you can do to keep me here." the smaller DIamond held a fierce glare as she stood up to the most powerful being on the planet.

"Oh, I wouldn't be so sure about that Starshine. Now please choose your next words carefully or I'll have to take you somewhere I'm not so sure you wanna be."

"Now I'm sure you heard me but I am leaving and that's final-" the girl was cut off by a sharp volt of power racking through her entire body. She crumbled to the ground and hugged her body as White stared down with her hand out.

"I warned you. You've brought this all on yourself. Such a shame, though I guess no one can be as perfect as me. Not even a Diamond." and with that the girl's vision went black and she knew then and there that it was over.

White picked up the black gem from the ground before turning to her controlled pearl and handing her the gem.

"Take this somewhere no one but you can find it. She needs to learn a lesson that I'm afraid will last quite a bit. Do be careful though." the soul-less gem nodded before bubbling the gem, saluting, and walking away to the nearest warp.

The pearl used the warp to take her somewhere no one had been for a very long time. Dust covered the ground and walls as she trailed up a staircase and to a room at the end of a hallway. She opened the door and there sat an empty room with a single stand in the middle.

Almost as if it was made for her the transparent white bubble was placed on the stone stand and the light of the stars illuminated it as the only thing in it. The pearl wasted no time in closing the door behind her and quickly warping back to Home World as there was still much work to be done.

And just like that she was left there for the next thousand years, alone, forgotten.

However, that is soon to change.
