The remnants of this dead world rears its ugly head, entrapping those in the wake of its darkness. A sky kid triumphs through their hollow existence, gathering wax and crafting them into candles. Everyday had always felt the same for Ivinir, candle run, daily quests, they would sometimes even go through Eden just to feel something again, that rush.
It had been just like any normal day, farming candles, staring and watching other skykids play together, some even getting flung into the stratosphere by a cat... yes, this is the new normal.
They had just been sitting around near the portals, trying to stay out of sight of the other Skykids in order to avoid interaction or attention from any of them.
Ivinir's attention is brought towards the sky, where they see one of the many stars begin to shine an iridescent glow, making a rapid descent towards the ground. Ivinir stumbles back in confusion, watching as the once star became something else entirely.
Did they just witness a Skykid being born...?
Ivinir stands up, slowly approaching the fallen star. Their face had been planted onto the ground, probably granting a decent amount of damage to their mask, with the rest of the Skykid's body stretched out, much akin to a starfish. They were more on the chubby side, along with being a bit shorter than the average Skykid.
Their hair was done in an afro, having been a bit messy due to their lackluster landing. They were wearing shorter pants, opposite of most skykids having a decent amount of length to them. This Skykid had seemed awfully unique from the get-go, just from their landing alone, but how they looked was even more intriguing to Ivinir.
The kid lifted their head up, taking a look around, somewhat dazed, also allowing Ivinir to take a look at their face.
Their entire left mask is cracked, with a bit of chipping around the sides, although there are some cracks on the right, they sure as hell aren't as prominent as they are on the left.
Ivinir felt a wave of empathy for the moth, them having been born in a decent amount of pain, probably. Their left eye didn't seem to be glowing quite at all, much less moving.
They moth struggled to get up, only being able to come onto their elbows and knees before collapsing once more.
Ivinir noticed their struggle, and lended their hand, hoping the child of light would notice.
With a lift of their head, they focus on the Skykid above them, as well as their outstretched hand. They stretch out their own towards the other, taking the other's warm hand. They're pulled up, although with a stumble, and a small trip. They lean against the other's shoulder for balance, much to Ivinir's surprise.
It isn't an unwelcome touch, but neither was it a welcome one to begin with. Not often did they get this close to another skykid, but it brang somewhat of a warmth to Ivinir.
With a little bit of help, they got the moth to stand more upright, and correctly. Although they were still stumbling a bit, Ivinir trusted the other could walk semi-normally.
Ivinir was one of the first to hear their first honk, after crashing down into the world.
They could feel their cold, dead heart melding back together.
