Stepping into the restaurant was a very different experience. A wave of strange feelings hit him as he approached the black counter. He stood there for a moment, waiting for whoever worked there to come out and take his order patiently. The restaurant was gorgeous, everything from the posters to the waiting area was inviting. Finally, the kitchen door swung open, and a boy walked out.
Rex's eyes widened. This was the prettiest guy he'd ever seen in his life. He had deep dark eyes, tan skin, and beautiful brown frosted hair. He adjusted his sunglasses above his hair and yawned, looking up at Rex.
"Hey, I'm Chuck. Welcome to Papa's Wingeria, what can I get you today?" He said unenthusiastically. Rex froze up, his brain suddenly not working at all.
"Uh... Buffalo... Please...." He whispered, receiving a tired glance from Chuck.
"How many?"
"Four..."
"Alright, any sides with that? Or sauces?" He asked. Rex shook his head, and Chuck nodded, heading back into the kitchen. What the fuck was that, Rex? You probably look stupid, stuttering and staring like that. He grimaced, suddenly concerned that Chuck might think he was stupid. He sighed, staring at the floor and trying not to cry. If he did cry, he'd only look like a bigger loser, and he had to make sure he didn't make a larger fool of himself than he already had. Despite his attempts to calm himself down, he had somehow messed everything up more and was now bawling in the lobby of a chicken restaurant.
After around eleven minutes, Chuck came back out with the buffalo wings. He looked up from his phone at Rex, brow furrowing at the sight of him crying.
"Dude, you alright?" He asked, setting down the wings and hopping over the counter. Rex nodded, despite the warm tears rolling down the sides of his face, and wiped his eyes. Chuck sighed, digging into his pocket and handing him a small package of Kleenex. "Uh... Don't really know why you're crying but like... Kinda bad for business, y'know?" Rex's eyes widened, the thought that he was making things worse for Chuck causing him to cry even more. "Shit... dude... uh..." Chuck rubbed his chin, thinking. "You wanna go sit in the kitchen and calm down? I'll bring your food..."
"No... I'll just take it to go... Sorry..." Rex sniffled, His sad blue eyes hiding behind his light bangs. Chuck frowned.
"Alright... Come again soon..." He mumbled, handing him the wings. Rex nodded and headed for the door, planning on never leaving his home again.
