Author's POV

One thing Jungkook never liked but could not help recieve more from the people was "Pity". He never liked anyone pitying him for his unfortunate fate. It was obvious that people would feel bad for a child who had no parent or guardian who'd take care of him and at such a tender age would have to suffer so much in life.

Sometimes life is just not fair for kind people. And Jungkook understood that very well. People would pity him everywhere, at school by the teachers and fellow classmates or at work by the management and staff. But he never showed the trouble on his face and always kept going along with the hardships of his life.

After the long day at University and his work place ended by 5:45pm in the evening, Jungkook ran all the way to a convenient store to buy the sweet bread for his little partner who would be waiting for him at the park near his house. It was like a blessing for both the boys to meet eachother every once in a while. They would sit on the swing sometimes and talk about their days. Jungkook would keenly listen to the little boy's speech while he talked about how he managed to help the baby ducklings by the lake so that they could swim with their mother and not get lost. Jungkook loved how the child always talked about everything with so much curiosity. Even though it was never a good day for Simon at his home with his real parents, he was always happy to spend time with Jungkook because he considered him as his family. And family sticks together.

After managing to reach the park in 10 mins, Jungkook crouched down and panted heavily. Then he saw through his sweaty bangs the little boy sitting in the corner of a bench while looking at all the kids playing with their friends. He ran towards him and sat right beside the boy with a smile on his face. Simon got startled by the sudden presence next to him but immediately gave a big smile when he saw Jungkook and hugged him.

"Before you give me anything, look at what I brought for you!!" Said Simon excitedly. He then removed a packet of cheese crackers from his pocket and shoved it towards Jungkook's face for him to see. "Where did you get this from?". "Okay first of all, I DID NOT STEAL! And father was home today so as usual he asked me to get him his drinks and cigarettes. With the money that was left, I bought this for us!" Simon said with the most innocent tone while looking at Jungkook. However the elder felt extremely disgusted towards that shameless person who unfortunately happened to be Simon's parent."Simon, I'm glad you could buy this for yourself but I hope you didn't get yourself in trouble with your dad?" Asked Jungkook being slight concerned for the boy. "Mehh I might have gotten a few punches if the man noticed but you see, he didn't so bingo! AND I got this for you because I really wanted to buy something for you. I didn't really have enough money to get anything else but I managed to buy your favourite crackers". Simon kept talking but Jungkook just couldn't stop himself from thinking about those pathetic people. If only he could take Simon and runaway in some corner of the world where nobody would ever trouble them. This was a 9 year old boy who was being tormented by his own parents both physically and emotionally.

Jungkook was so angry that he did not realise the two small hands on his cheeks which were trying to get his attention. "What happened Kook? Do you not like them? I can throw these away if you'd want me to. I just wanted to make you happy but you seem mad" said Simon with a gloomy expression because he thought he was not successful in making Jungkook happy by giving him a present. "No baby! Don't say that..I love this. What a great kid you are taking care for your elder brother! We'll share these crackers and we will also eat these cream buns that I got for you. I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you sad". The small boy started grinning again and the two of them got lost in eating the sweets and talking about their days like usual.
