Right after breakfast, Felix was called in for a checkup one morning. He was sitting in the therapist's office, waiting for the older man to start talking. Boo Seungkwan, Felix's therapist and a young doctor in his mid-30s, kept flipping over the papers in Felix's medical file, comparing the results from the previous check-ups.
The doctor looked up at the younger man and smiled over his glasses, "So, Felix, how have you been feeling nowadays?"
Felix smiled back, "I've been doing much better than before, doctor," he replied honestly, "I don't know why but I just feel happy these days," his smile widened but then it dropped, just like his gaze. He gripped his fingers and continued talking, looking back at the doctor carefully, "Yet, I still experience frequent attacks... mostly at night. I wake up, having trouble breathing and falling back asleep," he admitted and the therapist nodded, seeing the worry in Felix's eyes, "To calm down, I open the room window to breathe some cold night air. My heart rate comes back to normal after a few minutes but I fall back asleep maybe after an hour..."
Doctor Boo kept nodding, writing his words down in the file. Felix, who sat on the other side of the table and across from the doctor, perked his head up to see what he wrote yet couldn't as the older man raised the file up.
The session continued with doctor Boo asking Felix more about his attacks as well as his daily routine, noting down his words again. The therapist gave the patient some advice but was happy to hear that daily workshops helped ease his mind. Felix often looked up at the wall clock, fiddling his fingers and the doctor didn't miss noticing his impatience.
"Hmmm..." the doctor started, grabbing Felix's attention. The blond boy met his warm smile again, "It looks like we're making progress here," he added and Felix nodded, happy to hear such words, "Just keep taking your meds and do the usual stuff. You'll be fine, Felix, don't worry. If you need anything, you know where to find me," Boo Seungkwan finished, closing the medical file and giving it a little tap.
Felix smiled and stood up, bowing to the doctor, "Thank you, doc," he replied and the doctor dismissed him.
The boy exited the room, meeting the nurse who waited for him. It was time for "drama therapy", where the patients had a free relaxing time to watch a Korean drama of choice, and the two made their way to the room.
Turning the corner, Felix saw Migyeong standing right outside the room, waiting. He couldn't help but smile by seeing her.
"Migyeong!" he shouted, flailing his arm high in the air.
"Oh, Felix, hi!" she greeted him back, "You're finally here. I've been waiting for you."
"Yeah," he kept smiling, finally stopping in front of her.
"So, how did the checkup go? What did the doctor tell you?" she asked as they entered the room.
"Oh, yeah... He said I'm making progress," he replied confidently.
"Really?" she gasped, happy for him, "I'm so glad," she smiled big and he couldn't help but feel his face blush.
"S-so, what drama are we watching today?" he averted his gaze, changing the topic, as they sat in the two non-occupied chairs.
Meeting and talking to Migyeong was the thing that made Felix more excited than anything. It made his days in the facility easier and more enjoyable. He was relaxed, more with each passing day, and he was sure that her smile helped him more than the medical treatment. But he didn't want to dig deeper into his feelings, he just wanted to focus on the happiness he found with her.
...
The weekend rolled by and it was time for a family visit. Every patient's family came to see them. Felix didn't know about it so he was surprised when the nurse came to his room, telling him that there was someone who came to visit him.
