Chapter 1 - an unhappy marriage

After finishing all his meetings, interview and office work an existed Virat entered his home. A place where he wants peace, where he is not a business tycoon, not CEO of Chavan Enterprise, or hair of the Chavan family, where his every word and action will not be judged. But obviously, things always don't have to be the way a man thinks. As soon as he crossed the threshold of the main gate he saw his drunk wife Patralekha standing in an evening gown with help of two maids. His kaku head of the family Bhabani Chavan is scolding half-conscious Patralekha while other members of the family are looking towards her in an angry way but she is too drunk to care all these.

Though if she was in her senses then also she wouldn't have cared dysplasia of the family. This is not a new thing for him its quite common in the last 1 year after his marriage to their business associate Sailesh Patil's daughter. She started to show her true color after just 3 months of their marriage. Her life is designer dresses, salons, beauty treatment, makeup, late-night parties, spending time with her friends, long drives etc etc. she gives care about her husband or inlaws. She just likes to flaunt her status as Virat Chavan's wife. She fully use rather say misuse being the daughter-in-law of Chavans and wife of him. She spends his money like water, taking advantage of his status and power which he never used before also.

He doesn't like her and her behavior at all. He and Devi were also born with a silver spoon in their mouth but their family kept them grounded. They were never allowed to take money for granted. In childhood, they were allowed to send very less amount of money. They used to go to school by school bus though there was a long line of cars standing in their driveway. They had to earn their possession in the position they are in the company also. They had to do good in academics and start as a trainee to learn the work. Who will believe that before joining their own company they had to work in other companies also? It was never that whatever he do he will be the hair of the company. His father told him and Devi "If none of you are capable to handle the company then we will hand it over to a board of directors and they will run it. We can't let you play with the lives of thousands of people working here."

It's not that none of their family members attain parties. Except for Bhabani all attain business parties, in fact, they have to host parties also. But none ever come home like Patralekha. He and Devi being the hair of Chavan hair also had to live a disciplined life. They were not allowed to stay out over 11 pm till their college days. They always come home sober from any party. His mother, aunt, and sister all three together cant beat Patralekha in buying dresses and makeup stuff.

He stood in one corner of the room and watch the screen in front of him. He is too existed and irritated to be part of it. Devi come to him and said "Mrs. Menon's party". He said "not surprised. Only the name varies she now and then found a party to attain. I am done with it." Bhabani's eyes fall on Virata and Devi. she said to Virat "See Virat again your wife come home like this from a party."

Virat kept his suit jacket on the sofa after sitting on it and said "what is new in this Kaku? I am habituated, you should also in this 1 year. By the way, she is not my choice. it was you, Baba and Omi kaka who chose her as the daughter-in-law of the Chavan family. What you all said Virat beta we like our business associated with Saileh Patiel's daughter a lot. She is beautiful, highly educated from a foreign university, have a class that will be perfect for you and this family. Now handle your perfect daughter-in-law. Aai I am tired and starving can I have some food."

Ashwini rushed to her son and said "you go get fresh I am bringing food into your room." Virat smiled seeing his mother's concern for him and said "Aai I will be staying in the study." but before he go to study his sister Devi told, "you will get neck pain by continuously sleeping on that couch of study." Virat turned to answer but before him, Devi continued "I know you will say you do not want to deal with Patralekha now, we understand why I, Ashwni kaku and Aai has converted the room beside mine as your new room equipped with all your necessary things." he smiled towards these three ladies of his life they really care for him a lot from childhood.

Before he leave Omi said "We are sorry Virat, we know we have done a grave mistake by choosing Patralekha for you. But it's about your life beta please try to make her realize it once." Omi's realization made Virat's tone soft and he said "Kaka what do you think I never tried? I tried whenever I tried to make her understand she made chaos of it, she shouted, throwing things all kinds of stuff. I really don't have energy for all these repetitive things anymore." and left for his new room.
