Broken But Beautiful

Part -3

Mile was sent to cloud nine when Apo smiled at him. He stood outside Mr. Smith's cabin smiling to himself until Mr. Smith came outside, saw him and asked  if he needed anything. It was then that he realised he was standing there for a good 10 minutes after Apo had felt. He felt like a fool, he was fool.

He ran towards the cafeteria excited to tell his friends about everything, about Apo smiling at him .
He was a college student but he felt like a teenager,to be honest he wasn't this excited about anything even as a teenager, this was a completely new feeling for him .

"Hi Shawn, Hi Lena! So glad you guys are here, I wanted to tell you something "

" Calm down first, you're huffing like you ran a marathon " Lena said looking quite surprised by Mile's Overenthusiasm.

" You look so excited, it think Apo finally agreed to work with you" Shawn smiled taking a bite of his sandwich.

" Shawn you know me so well, I bet you know me better than you know Lena" Mile said purposely to tease Lena.

" Anyone would have guessed that it was about Apo. You can't seem to stop talking about him, you dumbass"

" I don't talk about him all the time, that's nonsense. "

" Ya I know, I know it's nonsense because I have to listen to it all the time"

"Shut up Lena! "

"You shut up, you dumbass !"

"Both of you, shut up! " Said Shawn finishing his sandwich " Now Mile, tell us what happened"

And Mile explained to them how Apo was not opting out of the project because of him, but because he didn't want to share about his past and how he agreed to do the project finally and then jumping with excitement he told them that Apo smiled at him.

" Can't believe this is the heir of Phakphum empire, jumping like a school girl because a pretty boy smiled at him" Lena said laughing.

"You are saying this because you haven't seen him smile. It was the most angelic smile, you're just jealous Lena"

" I'm not jealous. I'm worried about you Mile, seriously. You said this guy didn't want to share about his past so how are you going to complete this project. And I didn't mean to tell this to you but I have heard rumours about him, that he ran away from his previous college and he ran away from his previous city to come here. We don't qknow a thing about him, I have never seen him at the cafeteria, I have never seen him during lunch break, it's like he disappears after class and nobody knows where " Lena said seriously.

Mile grew silent. He knew nothing about Apo, nothing. But he knew he wanted to know about him, he wanted to be his friend, he wanted to make him smile.

After a while he replied " I don't care about the rumours and I don't care about the project. I just want to be his friend. That's it "

" Mile I think you like him more than just a friend and we don't want you to get your heart broken" Shawn said taking Mile's hand and Lena nodded in approval.

"I know you guys are worried about me but don't worry. I'll be fine " Mile reassured his friends.

"Just don't get your heart broken, you dumbass "
 
"Okay " Mile smiled.

Mile went to each and every class, found out if Apo attended it and this way he prepared a rough schedule of Apo's classes. He was not very proud of this sneaky behavior but Apo wouldn't tell him a thing and he wanted to have lunch with Apo.

Next day he rushed outside his class as soon as the the lunch break started and reached Apo's class, luckily the lecture was still going on. After about 5 minutes the teacher came out of the class, and then groups of students started emerging from the gate, Mile thought he would not be able to find Apo in the crowd but his extra large hoodies that he used to hide himself actually made it easy for Mile to spot him.
He followed Apo as silently as he could, he couldn't understand where Apo was headed until he saw him enter the old storeroom. Nobody used this storeroom anymore, it just existed.
He followed Apo inside , Apo turned around slowly as he heard the footsteps behind him.
