I couldn't watch you die.

Oliver had offered himself up it was obvious as to why, Spock had been in danger and that meant that it was either going to mean Oliver was breaking a promise to Amanda or that he would take the place of the half Vulcan. They had held Spock back the closer that Oliver had gotten to the icy water. "Why are you doing this for him? A stranger?", The male questioned as he tied Oliver to what appeared to be a rather heavy pair of bags. "It's penance", Oliver answered.

Of course for what Spock didn't know. Oliver hadn't done him wrong, it had to be about something else and it was. Oliver hadn't been able to stop another who was like Spock from dying but he'd never forgiven himself for it because his actions had brought upon the death. Oliver had shut his eyes and had voluntarily fallen into the water although not before he had been stabbed rather harshly in the side. Spock couldn't stand and watch and someone who he had met only a few weeks earlier was going to die, it was why he had flung his arms back, managing to elbow one in the chest and using his hand to use the Vulcan pinch to knock out the other who had been holding him.

Spock had taken two steps to notice that three had decided to surround him, the one who had been nearest to the sacks had kicked them in and was aiming the spear at him, two on Spock's left and right had spears aimed at him too. "What you're doing is illogical" Spock commented but before the male could deny the logic behind the action Spock had headbutted one of them that had caused the spear to drop, Spock had then moved towards the other two using the spear he had managed to disarm both of them before using the Vulcan pinch upon both of their necks causing them to drop.

Oliver was sinking rather quickly by this point accepting the fate he had placed upon himself. Spock hadn't hesitated, not for a second, seeming to dive into the water despite how cold it was. Spock had held his breathe as he went down into the water, he'd managed to untie Oliver's feet and had wrapped an arm around his waist as he emerged from the water. Spock seemed to gasp as soon as he emerged although he couldn't be pleased seeing Oliver hadn't made a sound nor a breath.

Spock had waded back to the shore, placing Oliver on it as soon as he could. Spock had felt no pulse as he did so it was why he had started CPR, of course he couldn't be too harsh considering he appeared as a child. It would've made things easier to have just transported on board the enterprise but for some reason there was interference. Every attempt that Spock made did no good, although it was just as the male was going to stop that Oliver coughed and spluttered, seeming to roll on his side so he could breathe.

Oliver's eyes had shot open immediately to see Spock, the male had a look of relief upon him he was showing it briefly. "Why?", Oliver questioned, seeming to shake still. Of course he was, he had been in icy cold water. "Because you have been and always will be my friend" Spock replied. Oliver had been surprised, it showed in his eyes. "You remembered", Oliver commented causing Spock to nod. "You still have the pendant" Spock replied as if it was the most obvious thing.

"I'm sentimental, sue me", Oliver commented with a brief cough, he had tried laughing but the fact of him wanting to sacrifice himself was still hidden. Spock must've wondered why he'd done so the way he had. Oliver had been about to climb to his feet when he noticed something odd, by instinct he had shoved Spock to the side, he was still bleeding from the previous wound and Oliver had been about to expect another wound however it hadn't come which had confused Oliver.

"Another one bites the dust?" Storm questioned as the stranger fired again, again they had been stopped. Oliver had grabbed onto Spock's arm suddenly. "Is this real or is it just happening inside of my head?" Oliver questioned. However the moment another male had come flying towards them in an opposite direction to the other his question had been answered. "If you're going to kill my brother you're going to have to kill us too", Nevali commented as she heard the sound of the other male who had tried hurting Oliver and Spock most of all, screaming.

"That wasn't necessary. We have rules", Spock stated. Not seeming pleased as she got closer to them, stepping out of the shadows of the woods. "I'll take that as a thank you" Nevali commented with a smile but as soon as she looked at Oliver her smile had fallen and for good reason. Oliver had thought she and Storm had died in an explosion which had been right, they almost had. The only reason they hadn't was because of Xander but even then it was still complicated.

"Oliver-" Nevali started although Oliver shook his head refusing to deal with it, not now at least. "No" Oliver commented trying to stand to his feet although Spock had caught him as he fell. "You're still bleeding and your body is shutting down", Spock warned him. "I don't care" Oliver replied. "You should" Storm called out, seeming to appear by Nevali's side by this point. "Why? What's the point in that? You both let me believe you died. I tore myself apart while you two just..." Oliver trailed off with a huff of air.

"Spock" he added making a pained sound at last. "What's going on?" Nevali questioned. "He needs warmth and safety" Storm commented. "Not with you. I don't trust either of you", Oliver commented. "It would be logical to put your trust in me then", Spock commented, he could already feel Oliver's blood on the back of his hand although there was little he could do. "Okay" Oliver breathed out. Spock had lifted up, keeping him as close as he could, it hadn't even occurred to him how cold he also was but it hardly mattered now seeing as either way one of them needed warmth.

"Storm" Nevali stated. "I know" Storm commented grabbing onto Spock and Nevali and using his speed to get to their hideout rather soon. It was a rundown shack sure on the outside but inside it was functioning and very advanced compared to what it appeared to be. Spock had been the first in mostly so he could place Oliver and himself near the running fire. "I'm sorry" Oliver stated. "It's not your doing" Spock replied. "Maybe you should let me die it would be easier" Oliver commented.

Confusion had come over Spock rather soon, he didn't understand. "It would be illogical" Spock protested. "Please. Trust me on this" Oliver pleaded, the two seeming to look at each other for what appeared to be a long moment, Nevali and Storm had stepped inside by this point, both of them seeming to observe the pair with curiosity more than anything else. "They're alike" Nevali commented. "In some ways" Storm agreed. "I must ask why" Spock stated, ending the long pause between the two.

"Didn't it ever worry you? About my appearance? My wounds never lasting long and my knowledge" Oliver questioned. "It's not logical" Spock objected. "No it's not" Oliver commented. "But it is real, Amanda saw it and I asked her not to tell you" he added, noticing the small wince at the mention of her, he knew the look, he didn't need to say what had happened to her. "I am sorry" Spock commented. "Do not be. Ask what you need to but never be sorry, not for me" Oliver replied, seeming to let out one last breathe rather suddenly.

His eyes staring at Spock. The half Vulcan had shifted placing his hand over the male's eyes to close them, his eyes turning towards both Storm and Nevali. "It is best you explain yourselves before I change my mind" Spock commented, not really giving them a choice on the matter. He wouldn't move from Oliver, it was fine if he didn't. Both Storm and Nevali knew this would happen and it couldn't be avoided.
