Harry was slumped on the floor, lent up against the bedpost in Louis' room when the older boy got in. He'd been happy, looking forward to the coming week with both of their families, enjoying some time off from school. But when he walked into his room and saw Harry his smile dropped, his face immediately filling with concern as he took in the sub's expression and posture.

"Hey, how come you're on the floor, love?" He asked.

"She's not coming," Harry mumbled, picking at the hem if his t-shirt, eyes focused down on the ground.

"Who isn't coming?" Louis asked, walking over to Harry and sitting down next to him, legs stretched out in front.

"Her boyfriend broke his leg and now she has to stay and 'look after him'," Harry spat, his voice suddenly full of anger though Louis could hear a hint of sadness within it as well. "I didn't even know she had a fucking boyfriend."

"Who-" Louis cut himself off as he realised what Harry was talking about. His mum wasn't coming for half term.

"Oh, love," he said gently, cautiously wrapping his arm around Harry's shoulders and pulling the younger boy towards him, somewhat nervous of how he would react. He just followed Louis' lead, turning towards the older boy, his head hitting his shoulder.

"I thought she'd want to see me. I know I'm not the easiest child but I haven't seen her in almost two months and she can't even leave her grown arse man of a boyfriend for a single fucking day to come and see me."

Louis couldn't even be mad at Harry's swearing. He'd like to have a word or two with Anne, let her know what a crappy way she was acting. He couldn't quite believe that she wasn't going to even take one day to visit her son, the son she'd sent here so that they could rebuild their relationship.

"I'm sorry. I know that's probably not what you want to be but we're still going to have a good week, alright?"

"Maybe you will."

"And you, us together, alright?"

Reluctantly, Harry nodded realising Louis wasn't going to let up until he agreed.

"Should probably move all my stuff back," Harry grumbled though made no move to get up.

"Don't worry about it. We can do it in the morning or even after this week's over if that's easier."

"I don't want to kick you out of your room for no reason."

"I'm not bothered, love."

"But my bed's smaller."

"And I'm smaller than you. Seems like it fits better this way, huh?"

Harry laughed. "I thought you didn't like being called short."

"I never said I was short, I'm just shorter than you," Louis justified and Harry laughed again. Maybe they could still have a good week. Harry would have loved to be able to see his mum but he had to make the best of the situation. He was still looking forward to meeting Louis' mum and siblings. They'd make it a good week.

"Louis, darling, it's so good to see you." Louis' mother burst through the front door, immediately dropping her bag on the floor to wrap her arms around her son.

"Hi, Mum," he said, hugging her back. They didn't break apart until a chorus of voices calling various versions of Louis' name interrupted them. Louis pulled back, a wide smile on his face as he turned to the 5 girls, and one boy, trailing behind his mum.
