Chloe exited the building and took several deep breaths to calm herself. She doesn't know what possessed her to tell Beca she didn't want to share a bed with her. Amy was right, they had shared a bed numerous times at Barden. Sharing one now would be no different.
Chloe started walking and made a mental note of some of the stores and take-out places along the way. Her mind was racing as she stepped into a small diner about three blocks from the apartment. She sat and ordered a coffee.
"Thank you," Chloe said to the waitress as she placed Chloe's coffee on the table in front of her.
Chloe took a sip and pulled out her phone. She found Aubrey's name and hit the call button.
"Hey, Chloe," Aubrey's voice came through the phone. "Are the three amigos settled in?"
"Well, we're in New York," Chloe replied.
"What's wrong?"
"It's silly."
"What's wrong?"
Chloe sighed. "The apartment is one big room. It has a small kitchen area, a bathroom with a curtain for a door, and two beds."
"Sounds cozy," Aubrey said with a chuckle. "What else?"
"Amy claimed the single bed and said Beca and I could share the pullout sofa," Chloe said. "But, um." Chloe let out a loud sigh.
"But, what?" Aubrey prompted.
"I told Beca I wasn't comfortable with doing that."
"And what did Beca have to say about that?"
"I think I hurt her feelings," Chloe said softly.
"What was the reason you gave for not wanting to share the bed?"
"I didn't give one."
"So, what is the reason?"
"I don't know why I said it because I don't have a good reason to not share the bed with Beca."
"If there are only two beds, what are you guys going to do?"
"Beca decided that since she was the only paying rent that she should get the single bed."
"I'm with her on that," Aubrey said. "So, if you don't share with Beca, you'll be sharing the pullout sofa with Amy?"
"Yeah."
"Good luck with that," Aubrey snickered.
"What am I going to do about Beca? I don't have a reason not to share the bed with her and I don't know why I said it was a bad idea.""I think you do," Aubrey said. "Take some time and really think about it. I'm sure it will come to you. I'm sorry but I have to go. Duty calls. I'll talk to you later."
"Okay," Chloe said. "Thanks, Bree."
"Anytime, Chlo," Aubrey said and ended the call.
Chloe let out another sigh.
Chloe took her time finishing her coffee. Her stomach grumbled and she picked up a menu. The food didn't look too bad and she was hungry. As she looked at the menu, she remembered what Beca said about buying dinner for the three of them. After a small debate with herself, she called Beca, who answered immediately.
"Chloe?"
"Um, yeah, Beca, it's me," Chloe said. "I found a cute little diner about three blocks from the apartment and wanted to know what you guys wanted for dinner."
"Where is it?" Beca asked. "I said I'd meet you and pay for dinner."
"Turn left when you come out of the building," Chloe said. "It's about three blocks down on the same side of the street. It's called Brooklyn Diner."
"Okay," Beca said. "I'll see you in about ten minutes."
"I'll be here," Chloe said, trying to sound upbeat.
She ended the call and waited for Beca.

Chloe sat in the booth, mumbling to herself.
"Should I tell Beca the real reason why I said I didn't think we should share a bed? Or, do I just suffer through having to share the bed with Amy for God knows how long?"
"Hey," Beca said, startling Chloe as she sat in the booth across from Chloe. "Are you okay?"
"What?" Chloe asked. "Oh, yeah. I'm fine."
"Um, did you order our food yet?" Beca asked.
"Oh, no, not yet," Chloe said, looking around for the waitress.
