MY THOUGHTS: like f.a.i.t.h, this book hasn't been updated in quite some time. it's a retelling of russian folklore, specifically kaschei and the firebird, and the tale of marya morevna and koschei the deathless. when i was reading it, the writing really pulled me in. seriously, its so beautiful. and the character aesthetics ... lorrdd i still have not recovered from them. there are only around 13 chapters of black bird, but it's still worth the read (so go read it!). if you love dark fantasy- or fantasy in general, then you will enjoy reading this for suree.
