Summery:  An enemies to lovers, idol-au. A friendly rivalry turning to hatred, resulting in Y/n being left alone with no one to turn to. Emotions running high and mistakes being made. Is hatred truly all they feel for each other?

Y/n, a trainee at JYP Entertainment, walks past the practice rooms, her eyes landing on Minho's figure as he practises some dance-moves. As she notices his struggle, the fluency between moves not nearly as neat as it could be, she chuckles softly.

Hearing her chuckle, Minho's eyes meet hers through the mirror, an instant glare set on his face. One that's supposed to get her to leave, yet does the exact opposite.

As soon as she notices his glare, the challenge is set, keeping her from walking away. Walking into the practise rooms she settles against the side wall, leaning against it with her arms crossed as she watches Minho's every move.

"What d'you want?" His eyes remain locked on her as he continues dancing, watching her roll her eyes at him.

Shrugging she motions for him to keep going, to keep his eyes on himself instead of her. "I'm just wondering how long it will take for you to fix the fluency."

In a swift move he turns to face her, his eyes showing his annoyance mixed with a sprinkle of hatred. "The fluency is fine, for now I'm just figuring out the choreography."

Scoffing at him, Y/n groans: "Why does everything have to be a struggle with you?" Walking up to him, she copies the dance-moves he did, adding some small moves to make it more fluent. "Just take my advice, fix the moves and learn them."

Looking her up and down he crosses his arms in front of him. "Oh yes, because you're so great."

"At least I can see a solution instead of denying the entire problem like you."

"You're just jealous that I debuted before you did," he snaps at her, wanting her gone, so he can focus on his dance again.

A low blow, and he knows it.

In their years as trainees together, the two never agreed upon anything. Well, except for the fact that they both hated each other. They of course didn't hate each other from the first moment they met, but a rivalry did instantly start. They made a race out of anything; the first to learn a dance, the first to meet a fan, the first to find themselves a group, the first to reach a certain note.

Nothing they did wasn't compared to the others abilities, as if their worth was only measured by how much they outshone the other.

When Minho debuted with Stray Kids, leaving Y/n behind as a trainee, their rivalry ultimately grew into hatred.

The group of guys she was around so often, suddenly never around anymore, leaving her behind alone. As they focussed on their debut Y/n only grew more distant to all of them. Her hatred for Minho slowly spreading to the entire group, as none of them checked up with her, not even once.

Months later, when things slowly calmed down, only then did the Stray Kids members realise they hadn't spoken to her for such a long time. Trying to get a hold of her again, they found out how her attitude towards them had changed. The smiles she used to greet them with gone, replaced by a cold look. The only heated look for Minho, heated with hatred and loathing, no sweet gentle warmth in it anymore.

"Criticism doesn't always equal jealousy. It's time you learned that," she shoots back harshly, giving him a final glare before turning towards the door. "Good luck teaching your members something you can't get right yourself." The door slams shut after her.

Walking through one of the many corridors of the JYP Entertainment building, Y/n hears voices chatting loudly as laughter fills the hallway. Voices she would recognise anywhere, and voices she doesn't want to be near. Stray Kids.
