Roughly a month ago I had been on my way to Nightingale, the small bar/night club I had been working at for a little over a year. The sky was clear and it was a little brisk in the mid autumn air. I was on a call with my best friend Dylan when all hell (quit literally) broke loose.

The moon, which had been practically invisible due to it being a new moon, was suddenly the color of blood and the ground maybe 10 feet in front of me split open to reveal a portal of flames that was tinged purple at the edges. Me being me, I decided it was a good idea to go down the alley to my left so I could peek out to see what else would happen. I told Dylan I would talk to him in class tomorrow and hung up before he had a chance to respond so I could place all of my attention on the portal.

For what I think was 5 minutes nothing happened. I creeped out to it when a spider that was at least 6 feet from one leg to the other jumped out a ran at me. I've always hated spiders, they always seemed to find and bite me no matter what I did as a child. This one looked like it wanted to pull me apart and feast on my organs. My theory was proven true when it opened its mandables, and in a sort of hissing  clicking voice called out to me,

"Do not run little mortal, you look quite tasty and I do hate having to chase my food."

I quickly turned and ran only to slam into a creature made of hundreds of human arms and legs. One of its many hands grabbed me and started dragging me towards another of the fire portals in the ground. I pulled myself free and ran down the road towards my apartment, weaving this way and that to avoid the many creatures now filling the street. Once I made it to my apartment I slammed the door, locked it, and started to barricade it with my kitchen chairs. I only stopped once I had pushed all the chairs to the door. I let out a sigh of relief as I finally caught my breath until I hear a dark chuckle from behind me. I swung around, eyes darting around my darkened apartment, but I couldn't find the source of the laughter.

"Humans will never cease to amuse me." The disembodied voice said with an almost mocking tone.

"W-who's there!?" I called as I grabbed the nearest thing I could use as a weapon, the heave wooden rolling pin my friend Jen got for my 23 birthday, which had been two days ago. The voice laughed once more and suddenly there was a figure standing in front of the window in my living room.

"I have had many names, little one, some of which you may know, but there is only one you will ever call me. You may call me Valikith."

The shadow was suddenly illuminated as it waved a hand lighting the many candles I had around. The figure, Valikith as it called its self, was tall standing at 6'9 with long red hair tied back from a face that resembled the face of a painting I had seen once that depicted what a philosopher believed Lucifer looked like. High cheek bones, an aristocratic nose, full lips, and skin with an almost bronze glow. What really caught my attention though was Valikith's eyes. They were a deep red with flecks of purple, they seemed to glow with the same fires as the portals I had seen in the street.

"Like what you see my little mortal?"

That comment knocked me out of my thoughts as I realized I had been staring at this intruder for far to long.

"What are you doing in my apartment?"

I tried to sound intimidating but my voice shook along with the rest of my body. As soon as I had started talking Valikith started walking towards me. The being, as there was no way this guy was human, smirked at my shaking figure as he towered over me.

"I have come to claim what was promised 300,000 years ago."

I gulped as he continued to loom over me.

"W-what, um what was promised to you?"

    His smirk grew.

"You and your world were promised to me little one."

I stepped back quickly, trying to back away from this crazed man, what was he talking about? How could I have been promised to him that long ago if I had not existed yet? But before I got far his hand darted up and wrapped around my waist. He pulled me to him so I was almost pressed against his chest.

"And where do you think you are running off to Robin?"

"H-how do you know my name!?"

I has shaking so hard now that if Valikith's arm had not been around my waist my legs might have given out. I could hear the condescending smirk in his voice when he replied.

"Because, my little songbird, you were promised to me."

After that my world went dark.

AN: Next chapter I will add pictures of both Robin and Valikith so you will know what they look like. Please comment, I would like to know how you all feel about the story.
