I'm Maria, I'm seventeen and probably the most quietest person you'd ever know. I only have one friend, Alexia. But I'm not even sure if she counts me as one of her friends. Basically it's just me against the world, I sit at home reading and watching Netflix. I'm not popular or well known by any means.

I woke up this morning feeling lightheaded and nauseous. Maybe because it's the first day of school. September 8th, the dreadful day I've been hoping would never come. I got out of bed and walked to my closet. My mother and I went shopping last week and I already had all of my outfit and supplies. I grabbed my white shirt that said "New York Love" and my red flannel. I got a pair of light capris and black vans. "Not a bad outfit," I thought to myself.

I went into my bathroom and washed my face with warm water. I brushed my teeth and then applied natural makeup. I went very light today, nude lipgloss, and brown mascara. I straightened my long brown hair that is naturally wavy. I grabbed my American Eagle backpack and went downstairs.

My mother approached me saying, "My baby is so grown up, look at you! You are beautiful Maria." I smiled and sat down at the island. My mom put my breakfast in front of me. I looked down and saw that she made me pancakes with strawberries on top. I thanked her and ate quickly.

I said goodbye to my mom, grabbed my bag, and ran out the door. I walked to the bus stop calmly. It was only the morning and I already knew it was going to be a longggg day.

Basically all day was the teachers giving directions and rules. One teacher said that senior year is one of the most easiest years, which I don't believe. All the seniors last year were stressed out with book reports, and lots of essays. Oh how much fun will that be!? I don't even know how I'm going to survive this year. I'm probably just going to sit in my room with my cat Lilac, and pray that this is a short fast year. Lilac is the chilliest cat I know. She is gray and has blue eyes. She is gorgeous and I love her!

When I walked in the door, my mom said, "Hey sweetie, how was your first day of senior year!?!?" I smiled at how excited she was.

"Great mom, thanks for asking," I said as walking up the stairs into my room themed as Paris. That is where I dream of going to after college. I went there once with my mom, brother Kyle, and dad before my dad passed away. I was seven. My dad passed away when I was ten and I miss him like crazy. My mom is so strong and extremely brave, after my dad died she took care of Kyle and I. She tried making it as normal as possible. My brother Kyle is 19, and is engaged to Mikayla. She is gorgeous and extremely sweet.
