The year is 2019, quirks and supernatural abilities were born and with them came an uproar in the population. The select few with powers immediately began using these powers for good, or for evil. As the years progressed, some of those people decided they've had enough of the people who misused their powers and they started their own Hero Alliance.
Now, centuries later, the tables have turned, meaning that those with quirks were now the norm while those without were a rare case. It has also become a very hero/villain oriented world where a majority of the people will strive to be a hero rather then taking some boring old desk job.
In this year, 2669 the Hero Association decided to provide a test for the youth to figure out why they strive for greatness as heroes. Don't misunderstand though, they were not checking for corruption as that was no issue for them, they were checking for who had the heart of a hero. They would issue these tests to children at the ages of 4, 14/15, and 17/18. These years were chosen as at age 4 the children receive their quirks and thus they will undergo a questionnaire to see who was still interested as quirks were a determining factor into pursuing heroism. At ages 14/15 and 17/18 it was simply to see how the mind developed and the hearts changed at the end of middle school and high school. Simply put, this was a way to test for a True Hero.
Although very knowledgeable, our protagonist was not very interested in becoming a hero but not because he was scared or unfit, it was because of one simple reason...
"It's such a pain looking out for the weak." the protagonist says to the doctor.
His mother, Inko Gojo looks at her son in shock. "Such a strange answer for such a young boy." she thought, however, her son, Satoru Gojo was always a strange one.
"I-I see, well the that didn't fully answer the question at hand, however, from your answer I can assume that you might be willing to be a hero, if you can find someone or a reason to." The doctor stutters at first before offering his professional opinion. "For now I will keep you in the program for finding a True Hero and rather then sending out the next test when you are done middle school, I must implore you to think deep within yourself and look to others for a reason to help protect those you call weak. That will be all for today, thank you for coming by. I patiently await an answer from you, young Satoru Gojo." the doctor continues and finishes.
Inko thanks the doctor for his time before leaving to the car and heading home for the day with Satoru and Inko only had one thing going around in her mind. "Looking out for the weak? That's quite a strange reason to be uninterested being a hero. Satoru does know that's what heroes do, right?" Inko thought long and hard about this. What made this all the more confusing for her was, Satoru was deemed quirkless. No offense to her son, or any quirkless people, but in this world, having a quirk was how they gauged your strength. In the eyes of the world, Satoru was the weakest of the weak.
5 years later, Satoru Gojo is now 8 years old and is in grade 3 and he has become quite the anomaly to the teachers and students alike. Although quirkless, he was strong both physically and mentally, he's well versed in many forms of martial arts, he understands how the brains work and how people will react in certain conditions and many more tools are in his arsenal.
Even though he is quirkless, the self centered pricks don't bother Satoru much as whenever they tried he would just get away without fail or issue and they soon realized it was a waste of time. Thus, Satoru realized what e wanted to do with himself in the future, he would be a hero for one important reason.
"Mother can we go back to the quirk doctor?" Satoru asks.
"What for Satoru? Have you come up with an answer for the doctor?" Inko asks.
"Mhm, I want to be a hero... to-"
Inko looked at Satoru, a shocked expression plastered on her face, which quickly turned into a supportive smile.
Another 5 years later, Satoru was in grade 8 and he remained the strongest in the school, even above those with quirks. These school years came and went as Satoru had little interest in what they taught in school, he was a prodigy after all.
In high school, Satoru found himself as the quiet type who observed rather then engaged and he was fine with that as it allowed him peace. However it was short lived, it seems that in this high school he had gotten the most obnoxious underclassmen and they would be quite bothersome.
They were the students who would end up participating in UA's hero course in Class 1-A who were part of one of the generations of heroes.
The generations of heroes are generations where a country has an abundance of exceptional heroes who can stand up to, and overwhelm the villains of their time.
Among this future generation of heroes, they all had their own quirky aspects or wrong habits. Take Bakugo Katsuki for example, he just LOVES to scream "Die!" at every chance he gets and it is quite the character trait.
Speaking of Katsuki, he looks up to Satoru as an older brother and role model as, much like many other fanfics, Inko and Mitsuki are really close friends and they have a lot of chances to interact with each other. Thus, Satoru was able to earn Katsuki's respect as a strong rival.
Let's move forward another, I don't know, 8 years. Satoru had graduated top of his class in UA's hero course the year before and he is a prospective hero to be, top 1 to be exact. However, that knowledge isn't shared with anybody at all. He is Japan's number 1 hero, yet he has kept it a secret for a handful of reasons.
-Scene Change-
Class 1-A is now in the changing room preparing for the first test of their time in UA. Awaiting them is their home room teacher and pro hero, Shota Aizawa: Underground Hero: Eraserhead. As per usual, Shota was hosting his infamous surprise test on the first day rather then attending orientation. Even the weird parts of this test have become routine for Shota, like the hidden person listening and watching it all occur.
(Sorry this was a complete and utter mess but I was trying to get into the important stuff right away without leaving out many details or adding too many details. Next part will be more organized and such but hopefully this was understandable and you could follow along. If not, just say where you were confused and a quick change should help smooth things out)
