"Sooooo, can I bring someone?" I say while holding my phone up to my ear. I'm sitting in my bed comfortably.
"As always, depends on who," Emma, my best friend of 4 years, responds through the phone with faint laughter.
"Jess?" I ask with a questioning tone. Sometimes she gets a little mad at me for always bringing a girl.
"Sure, you know I love Jessica!"
"You're the best, I love you so much," I say back with extra fake cheeriness. I'm just happy she isn't mad at me for wanting to bring a girl.
"You are such a hoe," Emma says with a big laugh,"Anyways, I gotta get ready. See you in an hour, love you!" Of course she has to call me a hoe, in hindsight I should've seen that coming. Better than her denying Jess at all. Although, I knew she would most likely let Jess come. Jess is practically in the friend group at this point.
She hangs up before I can say anything else. I put my phone down on my bed and pick a Spotify playlist on my phone. Always Forever by Cults starts playing. I love this song! I pull my covers off and hop off my bed.
Then I quickly remember that I need to text Jess, and go right back to my bed to pick up my phone. Sometimes my ADHD just hits like this. She responds to my text almost immediately with a yes. I smile at my phone and then place it back down. I take a quick shower, making sure to wash my whole body and hair in as short a time as possible.
Once I'm done, I put on a towel and start scavenging my closet for what to wear. I settle on a gray tank top and some black cargo pants. I put on my black platforms, a silver chain, and some rings as well. I put some foundation on my pimples. Then I put on concealer, eyeliner, and mascara. I keep it minimal as usual, with some slightly gothic eyeliner.
I take a minute to stare at myself in the mirror. My curly dark brown hair is layered and ends at my shoulders, it is often very messy. I play around with my wet hair a bit, making sure it will dry the way I like it to. Then, I scan my outfit checking for any stains. The gray tank top falls perfectly on my toned stomach. The cargo pants are low waisted and a little loose. I laugh at myself for a moment, amused with my appearance.
Before I leave, I feel under my couch and pull out a bottle of vodka. I am planning to get drunk tonight. I told my parents this morning that I was having a sleepover at Emmas, and they agreed. If only they knew the truth. I put the bottle of vodka in my black backpack and run down my driveway to my car. My car is a big brown SUV, not exactly the prettiest car but it can sure pack a lot of people.
On my way to Jess' house, I listen to my car playlist. Music is really important to me, I have always been interested in it. I am not much of a musician but I am fascinated with most music and find it to be an important part of my routines and motivation.
When I pull up to Jess' house, I text her and wait a few minutes. When she finally opens her door, I take a long look at her. She is wearing a beautiful short blue dress. It hugs her curves perfectly, and is pretty while still being casual. She has on blue high top vans to match the dress. I shamelessly check her out as she approaches the passenger door with a smile on her face.
"Hey, gorgeous," I say with a smirk as she steps into the seat and closes the car door. As soon as she sits down, she lightly punches me on the shoulder while smiling.
"Hey, Alex," She says cheerfully while she puts on her seatbelt. I take a minute to admire her long brown hair and blue eyes.
I turn down my music and we engage in some small talk while I drive over to Emma's. As soon as I park the car and open Jess's door for her, I run into Emma's house and quickly go down to the basement. Her family isn't around very much at this time of day and even when they are, they are very used to me barging in. Jess follows behind me, used to my quick entrances. When I see Emma, I run up to her and give her a big hug. Emma responds with a greeting and then I look around the room for a moment to see who's here. Rachel, Owen, and Xavier are all here sitting in different spots of the basement. I give them each a big smile.
