Arabella Solace was the golden girl of Woodsboro. From the eyes of the people in the small Californian town, Arabella was the perfect girl everyone wanted but could never have; she was the girl everyone knew, but was still a mystery to all; she was the girl with the perfect grades, the perfect parents, the perfect life.
Arabella was so perfect, no one thought that anything bad could happen to her.
But in the end, they were all wrong.
Because Arabella's life was seemingly so perfect in the eyes of everyone around her, no one suspected what her life was truly like on the other side of their rose-colored glasses. In truth, her parents were obsessed with the idea of perfection and constantly pushed her to be as perfect as someone could be. In the eyes of her parents, Arabella had to be the perfect image of a "picture perfect daughter," which meant upholding a perfect appearance to all and having no negative influence of any sort, and that included people.
Her parents dictated and controlled her everyday life and Arabella had no choice but to suck it up each day. Everyday, for as long as she remembered, Arabella plastered on a fake smile to appease everyone, leaving no one to suspect that she was an exhausted girl, exhausted with the perfection thrusted upon her.
There were some days in Arabella's life where she was so tired with the abusive perfection thrown onto her by her parents, she would kill for a sliver of a normal life; a life where she could be free from the claws of perfection that were dug deep into her. And there were even days where Arabella secretly wished—no, prayed death upon her parents for roping her into their obsession with perfection. But deep down, she knew it would never happen. She knew her prayers would never be answered.
Arabella was going to be stuck being their perfect daughter for a long time.
Or, so she thought.

Author's Note just to clarify ahead of time, instead of this fanfic taking place during the events of scream (the events would've been changed to last a few weeks instead of days for the sake of the story), atleast half of the story will take place a few weeks before the woodsboro murders even happen. i'm changing this so arabella has more a part to play in the events. also, the main focus of the fanfic is going to be arabella's trauma and her relationship with stu, so the actual events of scream aren't going to be a major factor of the fanfic until future chapters. but anyways, i hope you guys enjoy the story.
