I still remember that day I woke up 10 minutes early before my alarm clock started to blare. I jumped out of bed and headed straight to the bathroom. I was too anxious, and the thought of eating breakfast made me want to puke. I had a great time during my previous SBEs, so I was afraid I was running out of luck and that this last SBE would jinx. As I entered the school, I was amazed by the school's buildings; however, I abruptly stopped walking when I saw the office was still dark. I was stunned because it was almost 7.15 am, but no one was in the office or the staff room. I ran to the hall and saw everyone was there preparing for aerobics. I hid behind the wall shyly because I was the only one wearing baju kurung. Luckily I found Puan Rafidah, the headmistress, on her way to the hall. I introduce myself to her. "Good Morning puan, I'm Adilah. I'm from IPG Kampus Pendidikan Islam, and I'll be in this school for the whole week for my School Based Experience (SBE)". She nodded her head and asked me to join her in the hall. Then, we went to her office, and I handed in the official letter regarding my placement for SBE.

On the first day of school, I decided to stroll around the compound and take pictures for my SBE report. The school was immaculate and lively. The school was full of interesting spots to explore, for instance, the school's greenhouse, managed by Special Needs students, and Recycle corner, organised by the school's environmental club. I was captivated by the school's community that can work well, resulting in such a beautiful school.

The next day, I met with my mentor, the head of the English panel, Mrs Hana. I did not get the chance to meet her before because she had to handle a workshop for year 5 pupils. Once I saw her in the staff room, I was mesmerized by her stylish and chic outfit. We introduced ourselves, and she invited me to sit next to her in the staff room to discuss things I needed to complete during my SBE. She was so helpful though she was busy with her own work.

The next morning, Mrs Hana invited me to join her watching netball tournaments arranged by the Netball club for pupils during the last week of school. I was thrilled because I love to watch netball tournaments. As I arrived at the venue, one of the teachers asked me to be the scorekeeper. I accepted the request promptly because I was excited to be one of the important people there. The tournament ended with the winning team from class 6 Oxford.

During the whole week of my SBE, I had opportunities to observe a few English classes and received countless pieces of advice from experienced teachers. On the last day, I conducted a short test for Year 4 pupils for my Assessment in Education assignment. The whole class was so excited to see the new young teacher and kept on asking if I would be their new English teacher. Their excitement makes me swamped with emotions and passion to study harder and be a teacher one day.

Overall, I had a good experience throughout my SBE at SKKoU. The school was a vibrant and engaging place with lots of interesting facilities and activities for the pupils. Meeting with my mentor was a blessing because she shared tons of useful tips with me. I gained a lot of insightful and valuable experiences that motivated me to carry on with this education journey.
