The air was humid and somewhat fresh. The earthy smell that was produced by the rain and dry soil made one's mind feel at ease. Occasionally a few drops of dew would fall on travelers causing them to flinch, and as if the trees and plants communicated they would continue on dropping dew until one of the travelers got annoyed. This could be a little payback for the many times their delicate flowers would be stepped on or when humans would banjax their beautiful landscapes for their dwellings... yet such is the life.

Wei Ying, "Hmm. Interesting, interesting. But it ain't that bad compared to what Lan Zhan did. He used Wen Chao and Wen Xu against him."

Wei Wuxian, "How?"

He shrugged, "Turning them into ferocious corpses."

"..."

"Of course that didn't stop Wen Ruohan..." Wei Ying stopped in his tracks, having Lan Wangji so close to his face.

"What's with the sudden praise? Huh...Wei Wuxian. Weren't you one of the group of people who were against my form of cultivation? ...That it was inhumane." Eyes a faint red as he got closer looking directly at Wei Ying.

Wei Ying stood there with his arms crossed staring back at Lan Wangji. He tsked pushing him to create distance but this one didn't budged, "I never said that. Dark cultivation harms the mind and body, and you out of all people know that."

Wei Wuxian felt like a sudden breeze hit him in the face by words he never thought he would say, words that he had come to take offense of. Hurting the one person who stood beside him, even when everyone turned their backs on him. It's true that he doesn't want this Wangji to go through the same thing he has but yet it seems as if Wangji has gone too far from arms reach. He could only guess what he's been through for him to practice demonic cultivation. So how could he berate Lan Wangji if he'll only come out as a hypocrite.

Lan Wangji scoffed, "Same bullshit, different smell."

"You-"

Wei Wuxian pulled on his cheeks annoyed, "Would you two stop arguing? We've been walking for hours. My legs are killing me." He plopped on the ground pouting. "I'm famished."

"...And who's fault is that?" He turned to face Lan Wangji with his arms still crossed. The two started to bicker once more. Wei Wuxian only groaned, plopping himself fully on the ground staring up at the blue sky with imperfect clouds decorating it as birds flew by.

Wei Wuxian sighed taking out a piece of what looked like a black stone, inspecting it before placing it back inside his robe, 'Maybe I should've gone with Lan Zhan... would've it been different if Lan Zhan was here? Probably not. We probably wouldn't say a word to each other, but... his presence...  for some odd reason just makes me feel at ease.' Even so Hanguang-Jun was busy being the Wens guide to safety to Gusu. He turned to his side gently flicking a flower with his finger.

"Oh and you thought destroying the amulet and scattering its pieces would make it any better-" Wei Ying's lips sealed shut, as if an invisible force was holding them tight, unable to open them. This all seemed too familiar for him not to know what Wangji did: Silencing spell. Typically it would be used or placed on those who offend others with their words, disciplining them. Aggravated, Wei Ying grabbed Lan Wangji by his neck collar demanding to undo what he did.

"Really? Is that how you remember it? Because if I remember correctly it was you who did it...not me." He booped his nose and if Wei Ying could open his lips he would have bitten his finger yet all he did was swat his hand away. At this point Wei Ying looked as if he was ready to throw a punch at him but restrained himself from doing so, clenching his fist.
