At the dead of night, Shirou was laying down sleeping with a content look on his face, like the monster apocalypse was just a fleeting memory. All of a sudden, a bat started to slightly nudge him making him stir. "Piss off." He mumbled in annoyance whilst swatting away the object. "It's your turn to watch so get up." A feminine voice told him making him groan before sitting up with a glare. "Don't look at me like that." She muttered whilst glaring back.
Shirou stretched before rubbing his eyes and moving to a more comfortable position. "You can sleep where I was." He told her with a yawn, yet instead she just propped herself up against the bathroom door opposite him. "You seem so familiar and I can't tell why." She told him, changing the topic and getting him to sigh. "I used to come over to your apartment for a few hours. You would play and sing and I would be on my laptop." He explained as the look of recognition appeared on her face. "That was it. I had fun then, you were okay to just chill with. Why did you stop coming over?" She asked confused getting a confused look back.
"You stopped inviting me." He simply told her getting her to sweat drop. "You could have still knocked." She told him. "It was out of nowhere so I thought I annoyed you. Plus I didn't want to intrude with an uninvited visit just in case you wanted to be alone." He explained as she looked down slightly guilty. "Did I really invite you every time?" She asked a tiny bit shocked, only getting a nod of conformation back. "If it helps. You never annoyed me. You enjoyed just sitting with me and listening to music. I couldn't have asked for more." She confessed with a bright smile getting a small one in return.
"By the way. Did you ever finish those games?" She suddenly asked getting his smile to drop and he clutched at his head. "I was so close. And then my Laptop died on me. That's the only reason I haven't turned. Cause I will finish this game. If it's the last thing I do." He muttered, a look of pure determination plastered on his face. It went away and was replaced with a deadpan when he heard Jisu try to hold back a laugh. "I'm gonna kill you first when I turn." He told her making her almost lose it. "This ain't fair. The others are asleep I can't laugh properly." She managed to get out before quietly coughing into her hand.
"You done?" Shirou asked getting a strained nod from her. "This is karma." He told her getting her to smirk at him. And then it was taken over by another silence. One that was quickly broken. "What's it like?" She asked getting him to look up in confusion. "The turning. What's it feel like?" She asked again getting him to think. "It's, interesting. It could be different for everyone, but for me. It started out with a nosebleed, which was common for me so I let it go. But then I passed out in the middle of a boss battle and that pissed me off. And then there was a voice. Promising me my deepest desires if I trusted it." He explained.
"Why didn't you?" She asked intrigued. "Nothing ever comes easy. And so for some random voice in my head to start telling me that I can have it all if I just picked up the controller. I called bull. Then I woke up back in my bed. I hesitated with the controller for a bit, but then I saw everything that was going on outside and just went 'Fuck it'. I had food for a while so I was fine there. But then I got another nosebleed. And out of no where there was this guy on my bed. Looked exactly like me except he was this light grey colour. Started spouting the whole 'give in to my desires' bullshit. So I ignored him again. He caught on quick though so he just started to sit and wait. Waiting for me to fulfil my desires at my own pace. And I almost did. I was so close to beating the final game on my account, but then my laptop died. So I left my room. Met the kids. Met you lot. And here I am. Pretty sure if I beat the game I'd still be in my room. Or even a monster. I guess it was a sign."
Looking back up, a small smile graced his face when he saw Jisu asleep, her head resting against the wall and a calm look on her face. The smile disappeared just as fast before he reached for the pillow he was using, putting it on the floor and carefully laying Jisu down on it.
