There's Always Hope [Zayn Malik Fan Fic]

Chapter 1

Third Person POV

"Joey, you guard the left and Andy, you take the right. I'm going to go look for that tall guy with the brown hair, alright?" Mira whispers to the two seven year olds.

Mira, her little sister, Jubilee, and some of Jubilee's friends were all playing laser tag against these six guys who think that they are the best at everything. Mira's team is currently down to her and these two boys, Joey and Andy, whereas the guys still have four of their men standing. She took out the boy with the blonde hair and the boy with the buzz cut pretty easily, but the others are pretty good at hiding. They are all celebrating Jubilee's birthday, and being the tomboy that she is, she chose to go to laser tag.

"On it Captain Mira!"

"Aye aye Captain! Oh wait, that's for sailors. Eh, who cares?"

Mira spotted the brown haired boy hiding in the corner on one of the many balconies. She saw him set his gun up, ready to aim at one of her flashing targets, but before he could pull the trigger, she slyly moved away. Mira doesn't want these random teenagers beating her at something that she's so good at, which is shooting.

She hated the feeling that she has to leave the day after her little sister's birthday, but she knows that she is in good care with their older brother, Jayton. Jayton has been taking care of the two of them ever since he turned eighteen, which was seven years ago. Her father died in the war when Mira was only five years old and ever since then, she has always wanted to enlist. She felt like she needed to keep her father's legacy going.

The thought of going to Iraq and killing innocent people bothers her sometimes but she is doing to for a good reason. When Mira was eleven years old, her mother died of brain cancer. Jayton was eighteen at the time so Mira and little baby Jubilee didn't need to get put into foster care. The state believed that Jayton was responsible enough to take care of his two younger sisters.

Jayton went to college and played football for the University of Oregon, where they all lived for those four years. After he graduated, he got a job as an mechanical engineer in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. SInce Mira is eighteen now she chose to enlist in the military, just like her father, instead of going to college. School was never one of her talents and she knew that so she thought that it would be better for her to do something for her country.

"I found you. My friends killed those two little boys and if I kill you now, my team wins. Prepare to die, mystery girl." The brown haired boy threatened Mira. She didn't know that he has a high pitched, British accent.

"Okay, you caught me. Are you really going to shoot a girl though? I mean, you're British right? Aren't British guys supposed to be very well mannered?" Mira tries to distract her enemy, but he doesn't fall for her plan. What she doesn't know is that he is Louis Tomlinson from One Direction, the biggest prank master of all time.

"Nope, not going to work pretty lady. Now we can either do this the easy way or the easy way. You're choice."

"Hmm, I choose my way." Before Louis could even react, MIra was rolling on the ground, using some of her military moves to get away from him. She rolled right under his legs and shot him in the back. His vest made a game over noise and watched him stare in shock.

"That's a piece of cake. As I recall, the others from your team are dead as well so I believe that my team has just beaten your team." She smirks at the older boy.

"C'mon. It's my little sister's birthday party so go gather your friends and come have some cake with us. You put up some competition so I think you deserve some cake." Truth was Mira had a lot of fun rolling around and chasing that British guy. He believes that she doesn't know who he is, but she really does. How could she not know that he's Louis Tomlinson, the one with the great ass, from One Direction? Jubilee has been obsessed with them ever since their music has become more popular in the United States.
