"Oh right. Before you go..." Scaramouche picked up your resting hand and put two small pieces of paper. You opened your palm to see two pictures Scaramouche had taken of the both of you shaped into small hearts. You were grateful but unsure what they were for.

And like he could read your mind, he began to explain. "It's for the little necklace I got you. You can put the picture in it, or not. I don't really care."

You grinned from ear to ear and tightened your grip around the pictures to keep them safe until you could put them in the locket. "Thank you."

"Yeah, yeah. Bye now." He basically shooed you out of his car and into your home.

Once you finally got inside your bedroom the first thing you did was put the two pictures on each side of the locket's interior. Then proceeded to clip the necklace around your neck to show off to the world.

"Scaramouche, where are you?!" Shogun's voice was so loud it probably damaged the speakers in my car.

"I just dropped Y/n off and I'm on my way home. Why?" Her voice sounded panicked so my curiosity got the best of me.

"Mothers home."

-Monday 7:04 AM-

As gross as it felt, you were looking forward to going to school today. After staying up all night thinking of a plan to fix things with Yoimiya and now having the perfect boyfriend, going to school felt exciting.

"Y/n~! Stop playing on your phone and make me something!" Sayu's voice rang through your ears. Now that your parents left early in the morning you were back to looking after your sister and you by yourself.

And as embarrassing as it was to admit it, you were waiting for the text from Scaramouche saying that he was on his way or something like that.

But as time passed you stayed having zero notifications.

You felt it wasn't a big deal and you'd just meet him in first period like any other time. Still, you texted him to be safe.

scara im gonna get to school myself today
ill see you <3

But once you had finally gotten inside your classroom you noticed both seats where you sat were empty. You quickly scanned the class for the possibility that he was at a different table just to see people noticing you weren't entering with Scaramouche today.

It was a long period watching the classroom doors hoping for that familiar indigo haired man to enter but to your surprise he never did.

Out of confusion and honestly, desperation to see your favorite person, you came up with the idea to text Scaramouche as you sat in your second period class waiting for the class to start.

scara?
did you mean to leave me on read??

i miss u :((

Surely he did mean to read your message and not reply, right? A thousand explanations circulated in your mind which eased you ever so slightly. Yet you couldn't help but fear a situation where he's so sick he can't even type.

To somewhat calm your ideas you created a promise in your head to go see him after school.

"Y/n, where's Scaramouche?" Kazuha turned the corner to find you eating lunch where your group of four would all sit together.

"I don't know. Kazuha, is he responding to you?" The worry in your voice was clear as you searched for any explanation.

"Ah, he's not. I was hoping you'd have an answer."

"He's not responding to me either!" Childe added before getting embarrassed. "That's not saying much..."

"I was thinking of going to his house after school to check up on him." You suggested, hoping that the two would tag along with you.

"Hm, but what if it's a personal issue? He might respond after we give him a bit of time." Kazuha brought up, giving you a new perspective to look at the situation from. But he seemed fine the night before, what could be happening?

"I guess you're right, but if he still doesn't respond by tomorrow i'm going to his house!" You promised, raising a snicker out of Kazuha and Childe.

"We'll go with you!" Childe added which you smiled at.

"Ei, you're back." Scaramouche entered the house to immediately spot his mother waiting impatiently on the living room couch. As confused and angry Scaramouche was, he knew he couldn't lash out. Not when Ei would destroy his life like she has times before.

"Kunikuzishi, why have you been missing school?" Her voice was just as cold as it always was.

"Didn't Shogun tell you?" Scaramouche was beginning to get more annoyed by the moment.

"Hm, what I know is that you've been seeing someone." She turned her head to observe the panicked reaction that grew on Scaramouche's face.

"I am." He felt no use lying to Ei at this stage. Ei quickly stood up and turned her whole body to face him.

Ei's voice grew louder and louder as she roared. "Kunikuzushi, you know better than this! You're of the Raiden family, you can't date a random person from that poor school!" In all honesty, Scaramouche was frightened. Her anger had appeared so quickly from nowhere, this was of course expected from Ei though.

"Cool." Unsure of what to respond with he let out that small answer and bolted towards the staircase. But he was soon held by the collar, choking him slightly.

"Archons Kunikuzushi! You're not dating her. We've decided long ago that you'd get married to someone from a family as important as ours. Don't disappoint this bloodline!"

"I'm not your pawn Ei!" Before realizing it, Scaramouche had spoken the thoughts he wanted to yell but knew he couldn't.

Not long after Ei reached into the pocket of Scaramouche and in the blink of an eye, his phone had made impact with a far wall.

He pulled himself out of Ei's clutch and rushed to pick up the device that luckily only came out with a crack on the glass.

"Kunikuzushi, if you want to see her safe... end things." Her threat rose a panic out of Scaramouche knowing what Ei could do, and get away with.

A shakey "Fuck you." was all he could respond with.
