The house was buzzing from the excitement.

Everyone was at least somewhat drunk except me. My friends promised to pay me if I would be the Designated Driver. I'm fine with that, I don't particularly prefer getting dead drunk and puking everywhere and doing stupid things.

I just watched everyone else have fun. I really wanted to go back to the hotel, but Amy and Jessica were having a lot of fun, and I didn't want to ruin their fun. This was our last night in London, and I was supposed to have fun. But I wasn't.

"Oops, sorry mate!" Someone tripped over my feet. They replied, slurring their words. They got back to the party, dancing to the popular songs blasting on the speakers. Other people were doing shots. Couples were on the balcony, making out. I was standing in the corner, deeply interested in this thing in my phone. Until someone stumbled upon me.

"Was that your feet I just tripped over? I'm sorry." He said.

"No prob." I said, unamused.

"Hey, you have an accent! You're from America?" He asked.

"Yeah, I'm just on a vacation with my friends. Tonight's our last night." I said.

"You're not drunk at all." He pointed out.

"Nope, I'm the designated driver. Are you drunk?" I questioned cautiously. I didn't want to particularly get close to a drunk guy.

"Just a little. I'm Dan." He extended his hand politely. He stared into my eyes for about two seconds, before adding, "What's your name?"

"Hold on, that name sounds familiar." I pointed out, leaning against the wall.

"I'm a youtuber, if that's what you mean." He said matter-of-factly.

"Oh, that's cool!" I said, nodding. The song morphed into an annoying techno screech. We scowled at the music. Dan then reached out and grabbed my hand, saying, "C'mon, let's finish our conversation on the balcony."

Once out in the cool night air, I sighed.

"You didn't tell me your name?" He asked. His accent was adorable, slightly articulate and very polite sounding.

"Oh, it's Y/N." I said. He nodded.

"What a shame that you are leaving tomorrow, you seem like a pretty chill person." Dan said, looking unfortunate.

"Yeah, I'm with my friends Amy and Jessica, they're over there, looking like they're having a great time. I kinda wanna go back to the hotel." I admitted, scratching the back of my neck.

"Hmm, do you have a YouTube?" He asked me.

"Well, yeah, I did, but-"

"I KNEW IT! I've seen one of your videos!" He yelled excitingly.

"Haha, I don't post videos anymore. I stopped about three years ago."

Truth is, I kinda regret making it. One of my friends asked me to make a video there, and I played along for a few years, making videos. I had almost gotten a million subscribers - until all the hate mail and crappy comments kinda got to me and I slowly weaned myself off of making them.

"Why did you stop? You were really funny!" He said.

"Too much hate." I said abruptly. He looked at me with sympathy.

"Ahh, I understand." He said, shaking his head.

The stars are beautiful tonight, peeking out from their usual blanket of clouds over London to serenade the watchers. I looked at them, interrupting the conversation.

The watch on my hand beeped midnight. I laughed and smiled.

"What's the joke, Y/N?" Dan asked, confused by my sudden giggle burst.

"It just turned midnight. Today's (your birthday)." I explained.

"Why is that special?"

"It's my birthday, you drunk Brit!" I teased. It was weird, but even though I just met him, I felt like I've known him for years and we're just meeting up today as old friends. That might be the fact that some drunk people are easier to talk to.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" He shouted, earning looks from the kissing couples on the balcony. I smiled.

"How old are you now?" He asked, setting his empty red cup on the side of the balcony.

"I'm twenty two." I looked at my shoes.

"Sweet." He nodded.

All of a sudden, Amy burst right into our conversation and said, "Y/N, we should probably head back now. Jessica's drunk as fuck and I had to rip her away from three guys already. Oh, sorry, are you in a conversation?" Amy always talked extremely fast.

"Um, well-" I tried to answer.

"Okay, say bye so we can go-JESSICA! NO!" Amy gave me a desperate look of 'LET'S GO ALREADY!' and went to gather up the pieces of my very drunk friend, who was doing multiple shots in fast succession.

"Wait, Y/N, when will I see you again?" Dan touched my hand as I tried to say my farewell.

"Well, I'm leaving tomorrow and- you're drunk so-"

"Your phone number. Can I have it?" Dan asked, not wanting to let me go so easily.

I guess there's no harm in it. He WAS pretty cute. I broke down, taking his iPhone opened to Contacts and put my information in. I clicked on the photo space and took a picture in the light emitted from the house.

"Thanks a million, Y/N. I hope to see you again, maybe when I'm not so drunk." He said. I nodded.

I found Jessica and Amy hailing a taxi in the front. Jessica was singing Teenage Dream with all the wrong words, and Amy was digging through her small hot pink purse for taxi money.

"Crap, Y/N, do you have a five?" Amy looked done. Just done.

"Yeah, here, you don't need to pay me back." I said, digging the correct bill out of my pocket. She took it gratefully.

Once we were back at home, Jessica collapsed dead drunk on her bed, not bothering to change.

"Hey, Y/N!!!" Amy said.

"Oh, what?" I replied.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, YAYYYY!" She said. She tickled me and we collapsed into a fit of giggles on the floor.

"I got you something. Here, let me get it out of my bag. I've been waiting to give it to you." I waited with excitement as she dig through her duffel bag, tossing aside some hairspray and a pair of green capris.

"Here!" She said, dropping it in my hand.

It was a video camera. Very, very nice and expensive.

"Wha- AMY! What does this mean?" I asked, in shock.

"You're going to start up your YouTube channel again, so I thought you might need that."

"When did I say that I was going to keep doing that, Amy?"

"RIGHT NOW!!!! You were too good to stop! I thought if I got you that, you would be in debt to me, so that's my wish. You are now out of debt. POOF!"

"That's not how presents work, Amy! I only stopped because I was getting so much hate." I said, turning the box over to look at the camera's unique abilities.

"IGNORE THE HATERSSSSSS!" She hissed loudly. Jessica groaned in her sleep from the loud noise.

"Okay, okay, I'll try ONE VIDEO. Okay?" I said, huffing. She screamed with happiness. The phone in the corner rang.

"This is the hotel management. We're getting complaints that it is too loud. Please quiet down and, as always, enjoy your stay." They said, politely firm.

"We better go to sleep Amy." I threw on a camisole and pajamas. Then I slowly calmed myself down from the late night excitement from the party and drifted off to sleep.
