Everyone had a soulmate. Whether or not they found that person immediately or later in life, everyone had that special someone that was meant for them.

'Sounds like a bunch of hogwash to me.' Granger said.

'Well, I don't think so. I like to think there's that special someone out there for me.' Hetty replied.

'We're spies, Henrietta. There's many parts of our lives that we can never reveal to others. How would any soulmate be able to stand all the secrecry?'

'You're no fun.'

'You know I'm right.'

2 weeks later, Hetty left on a risky mission to Vietnam.

'Sir, we got a Mayday call from the Operation Sunshine mission.'

'What is it, whose it from?' Granger asked.

'The pilot in charge of the flight. We have to send out a rescue squad immediately, you in?'

Granger went out to the crash site, it was ghastly.

'Dude, I don't think it's possible for anyone to have survived this kind of crash.' Someone said.

'Henrietta was supposed to be on this flight, we have to find her!' Granger exclaimed.

'Well, wherever she is, she's definitely not here.'

Granger and the search team searched everywhere they could for the next few days, each day passing became more and more unlikely that Hetty was still alive.

'At this point, in these death traps of jungles. She's either dead or captured.' Someone said. 'We're risking our lives as it is out here, can we just call this off?'

'NO! Absolutely not! My friend is out there fighting for her life, and we are not going to stop until she's found!' Granger angerly exclaimed.

On the 5th day, even Granger was struggling to keep hoping, but he was determined to keep looking for her.

Then, thanks to a well built campfire fire, he ran over and saw Hetty passed out.

'Oh my gosh, Hetty? Hetty wake up!' Granger pleaded.

Later, medical unit.

'She's lucky to still be alive. Another day or 2, she would've lost her arm. We're monitoring her fever right now, just have to hope it doesn't go up. She's lucky to have someone like you.' The doctor said.

Granger stayed by her side the whole night.

'You know what I said about soulmates? Well, after this week. I think I might actually be starting to believe in them. Because I can't bear to lose you!' He said softly. Then he gently kissed her very warm forehead.

The next day.

'Did you really spend 5 days, going through the danger filled jungles of Vietnam to find me?' Hetty softly asked.

'Yes, I did.' Granger replied.

'Men only do crazy things like that when they're in love.'

'Or when they really don't want to lose their friend.'

Hetty turned out to be right later on. After deciding to date for a few months, they got engaged, married and had a daughter, and left the CIA behind and joined NCIS, and overtime, formed their own special team of agents to basically save the world.

'Well Miss Lange-Granger, I guess you really were right about the whole soulmates thing.' Granger remarked outside of their new office building.

'And how many times have you said that already? When you proposed, when we got married, when our daughter was born, etc.' Hetty replied.

'And I will continue to say it for as long as I'm still standing. Because all those years ago, I didn't believe it was possible to be so happy with 1 special person like fate. But then I had to realize how much you really mean to me. And I couldn't be happier now!'

'Mmm. (hugging him). You're my angel, and you are a wonderful father! I'm glad fate brought us together.'

'Just hope we can keep this new team of ours alive.'

Hetty laughed.
