It seems that Furlan also got interrupted in his actions, because he hurried to storm out of the office. You followed right behind him, trying your best not to get caught.
You came back to the main hall where you saw Hange already chatting up the new recruits. You approached the little group and Hange was the first to notice you.
>>Ah, your back! I was just talking to the newbies.<< she stated as you sat down between her and Isabel before glancing over at Furlan, what was he looking for? Are they also here on a mission? Furlan only felt a little uncomfortable by the short glance you threw at him. Not knowing why.
>>You must be Y/n right?<< Isabel shifts closer to you. You only nod in response, giving her a kind smile.
>>Thought so! The other cadets talk about you a lot! You're really strong aren't you?<< she looked at you curious for a response.
>>You could say that, yeah...<< you shift your eyes away from hers, feeling a little embarrassed. Sure you took the credit but people giving compliments to your face always put you in an awkward situation.
>>And you're so pretty! No wonder Levi keeps staring.<< her eyes shift to the dark haired man and her lips curl into a wide grin. Levi looks at her completely stunned, but shifts his gaze away and face palms himself. And you didn't make it better for him. You could barely hold your laugh at his reaction and you just knew that Hange had the same issue. One glance at each other and it was over.
>>Thanks for the compliment Isabel, but I don't think that's it.<<
>>Exactly Isabel, it's not.<< Furlan joined the conversation, a little annoyed at the girl's comment. It was clear she just wanted to embarrass Levi, as a joke.
>>Well what is it then?<<
>>I'll tell you later.<<
There was silence after and Hange thought that this was the moment to leave.
>>Well, it was nice talking to you. See y'all later.<< Hange got up and left and just as you were about to stand up Isabel asked you a question.
>>How did you become a scout?<<
>>Well...Like any other I suppose.<< you sat back down and decided to tell them a little more.
>>In fact, I used to live in the underground for two years, then I got out of there and joined the scouts a few years later.<<
>>Nooo waaaay!<< Isabels eyes widen and Furlan seemed to show interest as well. Even Levi tilted his head.
>>And how did you get out? And what was your job after?<< You figured why she was so interested, anyone in the underground tried to get out, so it didn't take a lot of brain cells to figure they were too. It's only natural they wanted to know more about it from a person who actually managed to get out of there. Only one problem.

You couldn't tell them how.

>>It was a long time ago and I didn't even spend that much time there...Only like 2 years or so...<< you approached it carefully, but then you figured the best way to go about it was to make up some basic lie.
>>Well, I saved up on money and got out. Finding a job was a lot easier upstairs.<< Isabel wanted to know more, her first time meeting someone who managed to achieve something she wanted. How could she not ask you about everything?
>>And how did you get out? Payed them and just walked out?<< you actually had no idea how people get out of there, you even heard rumours that it's impossible to get out without any help from outside and it's no use to even try. You just got lucky, that's it. Mr.Scott just walked out with you without the guards even saying something. So how could you answer her question?
>>Oi! Y/n! Erwin is looking for you!<<
Thank god, you were saved.

But wait, Erwin? Shit. Did he see something? Did anyone see something? You made sure no one was there, heck even Furlan didn't notice you and you practically walked out right behind him. You got up and walked towards his office, entering it you saw Erwin's serious expression. You tensed up a bit, Erwin sure was a kind guy...most of the time. But something about him gave you chills. Perhaps the fact that his tone and posture reminded you of another person you respected so much, your Boss.
>>L/n, I have a request.<<
>>What is it?<< you asked, relieved by the fact that it wasn't about you. You would've had a hard time trying to explain why you came out of his office looking all sneaky. Or why you entered it while he was absent in the first place.
>>It's about the three new recruits. I need you to look out for them.<<
>>Why that?<<
>>I know why they're here. They need to obtain something that does not belong to them.<< although it explained why Furlan was in the office and made you a bit more curious, you really didn't feel like doing it. And besides, if he knows then why does he need someone to spy on them?
>>Before you ask, I only need you to look out so things don't get out of hand tonight. After this expedition ends you're free.<< alright then, you just have to watch them for a few hours. Things like that were a piece of cake to you anyway.
>>Understood, anything else?<<
>>No, you're free to go.<<

The rest of the evening went smoothly. They didn't even try to do anything, you relaxed a bit but still kept your guard up.

It was already nighttime, everyone went to bed but Isabel seemed to be missing. After the girls all questioned her disappearance you volunteered to go look for her.

You walked trough the hallways and ended up on the rooftop where you found all three of them sitting, looking at the stars and the moon.
That was the first time you saw Levi relaxed and despite knowing him for a short amount of time it felt unusual to you.
>>Isabel, you're the only one of the girls missing.<<
Though it wasn't necessary to be present at night time. The girls were a bit on edge since pretty much everyone was still suspicious of the three. So Isabel missing wasn't sitting right with them.
>>Oh, should I come with you?<<
>>Nah it's fine, I'll cover for you.<<
She smiled at you and you returned the gesture before turning around and starting to make your way back.
>>Do you want to sit with us?<< Isabel asked as you turn around to face her again. You threw a glance over your shoulder, to check if anyone was coming and to think of an answer but decided to stay in the end.
>>So, how old are you right now? And how long have you been in the scouts?<<
>>Less than a year, I'm 23.<< you smiled and accepted the wine bottle that Furlan offered you and took a sip immediately.
>>Really? You can hardly tell.<<
>>Tell what?<<
>>That you're kind off new to the army. I mean, I saw you train once and you took on three grown men at once! That was really cool by the way!<< again with the compliments, you didn't mind tho. So you just smiled sheepishly.
>>And you guys? How's your life been so far?<<
>>We have a gang underground, Levi is the leader. All three of us lived together before Erwin picked us up.<< well, sounds pretty average for the underground.
>>And what do you guys plan to do when you get out?<< you take a sip of wine. You actually started to get curious. >>Gangs aren't really welcome here upstairs.<< You half joked.
>>I don't know yet...But I know that I want to fight crime and help people! And Animals!<< adorable to be honest, you giggled as Isabel spread her arms in the air and looked at the sky. Her eyes sparkling in the moonlight.
>>Well, you have to train a lot for that, fighting crime is a hard job.<< you state and take a bigger sip this time, as your mind reminds you of the times you began to train at Mr. Scott's. It was hard even at the beginning. The bruises you got didn't make the next day any better. But look at you now, a prime assassin and one of the most known "criminals" in the underground, well, basically everyone in the underground was involved in some crimes. It's the underground after all. But the difference between you and them was that they had to kill to survive, you killed because it's your job. Also, you killed people who deserved it more than anyone could imagine.

>>Well I guess I'll need you to show me some moves.<< Isabel interrupted your thoughts as her face got closer to yours.
>>As in...train you?<<
>>Yeah! I need you to show me that one move that you used to kick Mike's ass earlier! When you pretended to kick him on one side of his face but then you suddenly spun around and kicked him in the other with your leg!<< She stood up and proceeded to imitate you but lost balance as she was spinning around wich caused her to almost fall. But you knew what she was talking about.
Well, not to brag but it was an easy one for you, and with her skill she could do it in a month. Maybe one and a half.
>>Sure, if you promise to learn fast.<< she smiled, happy at your response.
>>Oh! And show me around town when we get back! Please.<<
>>No problem, we'll get back tomorrow anyways and I don't have any plans.<< with that Isabel shook your hand and you both shared a smile. And you returned your eyes to the moon, casually sipping on the wine.

>>Y/n I thought you went looking for Isabel?<< Hange's voice suddenly appeared from behind, not really surprising you since you heard footsteps coming from behind.
>>I was. And I found her.<< you pointed at Isabel.
>>Well I need to ask you something! Can you come real quick?<< you sighed and Hange picked you up, threw you over her shoulder and left with you. Not even thinking about giving you time to answer.
>>Isabel just make sure to get enough sleep before the mission!<< you warned the girl before you and Hange disappeared downstairs.
>>Hange I forgot my bottle upstairs.<<
>>You had enough anyways, didn't you quit?<<
Well....You did, at least you tried...Doesn't matter.
>>It's not that bad, I'm not even drunk.<< you really weren't, you barely drank half of the bottle. Plus your alcohol tolerance was pretty high so it would definitely take more than a few sips to get you drunk.
>>Yeah, fine. But you still need to come with me.<< she slightly spanked you and you just hung over her shoulder with a defeated expression. If this person wasn't your best friend you would've kicked her already. But oh well.
