It wasn't supposed to be this bad

"Fin I swear to god out of all the ideas you've had this one was the worst," Erica complained

"Quit your fucking complaining I swear I'll beat you with a rabbit and a crow bar," Fin replied, shooting her a death glare.

"So we have to wait until tonight to even start this bullshit?" Lini asked, kicking up some dust off the ground.

This was the main hall, part of the entrance to the asylum. There was an old fashioned dusty desk in the center, right before the actual hall part, with a little porcelain doll on the corner, in perfect condition. There was various paintings on the tan, withdarkbrownsplatters, walls. The wood on the bottom part of the wall was chipped and rough. If there were any patterns you would never be able to tell. Papers were scattered everywhere, photos torn and scratched away.

Erica picked up one of the photos, it was in perfect condition. It was a little girl smiling, holding a porcelain doll. "Aww, so cute!" She looked towards the desk, holding the picture next to the doll. They were exactly the same. "That's weird..."

Erica pocketed the picture, then resumed going through some of the files and photos.

Rose and Angie were both looking through a file cabinet, the lock wasn't much good anymore.

Rose was about to go to the second part of the cabinet, and failed to realize Angie's head was there. So when reaching up to unlock it she punched her in the face.

"You're supposed to be the one that isn't easily seen in the dark fucker."

"Angie it's six in the afternoon and not even dark yet fuck off."

Mason, Abbey, and Jules were organizing some of the toys and trinkets left behind by children who supposedly died in the asylum.

There was all sorts of antique toys. Ragdolls, puppets, windup dolls, but only one porcelain doll.

Jules picked it up, inspecting it. There was one hole in it, and before realizing it she cut her thumb. She was more worried about where the hole was, right where it's heart would be. She flicked the blood off her thumb and went back to looking at other things.

~×~

The sun was setting, everyone was at work. Fin and Len were propping the doors open in case they needed to run. Base and Angie were setting up all sorts of confusing equipment. Christa and Lini were unpacking night vision googles and flashlights. Fuck you I'm not writing what every single person is doing.

Asya was looking around the room, the desk, the walls, the ceiling. There was something dripping from the ceiling, she was about to further investigate before-

"FUCK WHY WONT IT STAY?!" Len yelled, the wood the used to keep the door open kept faltering, and the doors slammed shut. Gilbert got tired of their shit and decided to help.

Asya internally said 'fuck it' and walked to help Abbey, Mason, Jules, and Amber with bringing the toys back to the camp they set up.

The sun finished setting, and with that Rose started complaining. "You fuckers better give me a flashlight or some shit because I didn't want to come but you white people did."

"Shut the fuck up you over sun dried raisin," Angie said.

"Alright fuckers, since this is my fanfic I'm picking partners and groups."

No I'm not writing it as if I'm saying it

Group 1
Lini and Fin + Jules & Asya and Len

Group 2
Gilbert and Erica & Mason and Abbey + Base

Group 3
Rose and Angie + Kiana & Amber and Christa

Everyone did their fair share of complaining and wished each other luck before heading off. Asya was the only one to notice the faint shattering sound.

Group 1 took the main hall and all rooms, Group 2 would get the left wing, group 3 the right.

Group 2 and 3 had already stopped, but Asya insisted they stay put for just another few minutes. She also asked Erica for the picture she picked up earlier.

"Asya what are we even doing here still, all the spooky shit is in the rooooooooooms!" Jules complained.

"If you want some real spooky shit chill the hell out," she said, inspecting the doll on the desk.

She pulled out the picture, which was drastically different. The doll was now turned to face the girl, and she looked terrified, forcing a smile and her eyes wide, staring.

She looked at the doll again, it was now smiling.

Photo, the girl was crying, the doll on her lap.

Doll, smiling and holding it's glass hand to it's chest.

Photo, the girl looked as if she was screaming. Holding her eye, there was black fluid dripping down her hand and cheek.

Doll, the mouth was missing, in the hand was now something glistening, dripping. There was a hole in it's chest.

Photo, the girls hands were cut off and gushing blood. A glass shard in her eye was visable. The dolls mouth was missing.

Asya gave Fin the picture and he put his glasses up to it. The piece in her eye was the missing part on the doll. The smile was sickening.

They all turned to the doll, it was smiling. It was no ordinary smile. It was like it was a person using the doll as a mask. The eyes were bloodshot and wide open.
There was a cackling noise, everyone looked around. They saw nothing. Then a shattering noise caught all their attention.

The doll was broken, smashed into a ton of tiny pieces. There was only one actual piece left, the mouth.

They all stayed as calm as one could in this situation with experience. As they started to walk in a different direction, Lini felt her shoes become wet.

Len shone his flashlight on it. "Holy shit..."

There was organs, blood, and body parts where the porcelain should've been. This might be a little more than what they bargained for.
