Have you ever heard of "the walrus and the carpenter"? In the poem by Lewis Carroll, a walrus and a carpenter trick oysters into following them and it ends badly for the oysters. The poem and the clip of the walrus and the carpenter have many similarities and differences.

Many similarities are in the poem and the video. One similarity is the setting because it takes place on the beach in the middle of the night. Another similarity is the characters in both the poem and the clip: the characters are the Walrus, and the Carpenter, Oysters, and the Eldest Oyster. Furthermore similarities are events such as the walrus wanting bread and seasoning for the oysters he was going to eat; another example is when the walrus and the carpenter tell the oysters to come with them the eldest oyster did not comply and did not come. The last similarly is the theme in both it teaches readers, and viewers to not trust strangers and to respect your elders. In conclusion both the poem and the clip have many similarities in comparison to one another.

Contrats can be found in the video and poem of the "walrus and the carpenter". One difference is the oysters live under water in the video, and the walrus and the carpenter have to go underneath the sea to find them. In the video the Walrus and the carpenter were talking about how they were going to clean the beach, and in the poem they say that if 6 maids cleaned for half a year. In the poem the oldest oyster is only referred to as the eldest oyster but in the video they are referred to as the mother oyster. In the video the walrus carries a cane and the carpenter carries a hammer; and in the poem they carry nothing. In the poem both the Walrus and the Carpenter eat the oysters, but in the video only the walrus eats the oysters. The last difference is that in the poem the Walrus and the carpenter eat on the shore on a rock that is particularly low; but in the video the carpenter builds a restaurant so they both can eat the oysters. Those are differences in the poem and the video clip.
