Reader's Pov. -

I was at the Undertaker's shop to conversate with my old friend, the Undertaker. We had been hanging out for a while, when a young boy around the age of 12 walked in with a tall man following behind him. From the way they were dressed I assumed that they were nobles of some sort.

"Undertaker," the kid said, "I need some information from you."

"You seem to be forgetting the payment for my services, besides I have someone else here to amuse me," he responded through small giggles.

"I don't have time for your games Undertaker," the boy said impatiently.

"Who are you guys?" I asked.

"This is the Earl of Phantomhive, Ciel Phantomhive, and I am his butler, Sebastian Michaelis," the tall man dressed in a black suit said in response.

Then I said, "Oh, well, I'm pleased to make your acquaintance, the name's (y/n)."

"Well (y/n), we have some business with the Undertaker, so I might have to ask you to leave as it is rather important and simply cannot wait," Sebastian said with a slight smile that was so obviously fake.

I sent him a fake smile back and said, "Well, if it is so important then what is it? Surely me knowing couldn't harm much."

Ciel then butted in and said, "Look, we need some information on a few victims, a lot of people can't handle the horrors of murder cases, we simply want to ask him a few questions."

"Then ask away, it doesn't bother me one bit," I said.

"Well then, Undertaker, we need to talk to you about some victims that have been horribly disfigured, I need you to look closely at these wounds and help to identify what could've done such a thing to these people. The queen asked for confirmation on whether these cases are a wild animal, or a serial killer," the boy said as he placed seven photos on top of a coffin.

I leaned over and tilted my head to see the pictures better. They showed gruesome depictions of bloody bodies ripped from head to toe, they were so far beyond recognition that I could hardly tell they were human.

"Hmm, what do you think?" the Undertaker asked me.

"It definitely doesn't look like an animal did that, it had to have been some kind of man made thing or supernatural occurrence of sorts," I said. "A natural animal can be completely ruled out. It looks like some kind of rake-like thing did it, maybe some sort of custom weapon?"

"That makes sense, but still, who would go so far as to completely destroy someone like this?" Ciel asked.

"Pure insanity leads many people to many horrible things. It could've been the work of a madman," I responded.

"You seem to have quite the bit of knowledge, are you another that works in this department? Or perhaps do you have some sort of experience dealing with this sort of thing?" Sebastian asks me.

"I have been working with the Undertaker for a while, we have been pretty close friends for quite a long time and I have gained my experience both here and elsewhere before our meeting," I said.

"Thank you Undertaker, (y/n), we'll be going now, come Sebastian," Ciel says as he picks up the pictures, turns around, and walks out of the shop.

"Yes, my Lord," Sebastian says as he quickly follows behind the young boy.

I help the young master into the carriage, then I am left to my own thoughts.

'I am ever so hungry for a human soul, but that makes this effort ever the more worth it.'

'The taste of his soul will be so very exquisite.'

'Thinking of the effort, this case is rather intriguing.'

'Hmm, and that friend of the Undertaker was rather quite interesting.'

'I should try to figure out more about them when I get the chance.'

"Sebastian,"
"Sebastian!"

"Sorry my Lord, I seem to have been lost in thought, what did you need?" I responded as I was pulled from my thoughts.

"We have arrived at the manor," he said, begining to grow impatient.

"Yes it appears we have, I apologize for my absentmindedness, please do forgive me," I said as I opened the carriage door and helped him to get out.

"I don't care all that much, just make sure you focus on the task at hand," he said as we walked up to the manor.

"Yes, my Lord," I responded as usual as I opened the door to the manor.

"I am going to work on the case, bring the tea to my study when it is ready," he said as he walked inside and went towards the study room.

"As you wish," I said as I walked into the kitchen to prepare the tea.

"Young Lord, your tea is ready," I said after knocking on the door.

To this he responded, "come in," though he sounded rather lost in thought as he said it.

"Today we have a Strawberry Shortbread Cake paired with a Chamomile Tea," I say as I take the slice of cake and his tea off of the tray table and put it onto his desk.

"This case, it's showing to be quite difficult, the only information that I've been able to gather is what we got from the Undertaker, or rather, the Undertaker's friend," he said as he picked up his tea. Then, between sips of his tea, he said, "Sebastian, go and get that person from the Undertaker's shop."

"You mean (y/n), My Lord?" I said as he sipped his tea.

"Yes, go get him and bring him back here, I'd like to request his help on this case as he seems to know a good bit about it," he said.

"Yes My Lord. I will bring him here, by force if I must," I said in response. "Do you require anything else?" I waited for a moment, receiving only a dismissive wave. I then left, taking the tray with me to put in the kitchen before carrying out my orders.
